I don't hate them but got no desire to play Minecraft. I don't see them as much of a game company like Bioware though who has many games and years under their belt and except for Dragon Age 2 has had a stellar line up of games
I have come across the following reasons:Why do people hate Mojang?
Compared to most game developers and considering the size of Mojang, they take a good amount of time to release new things personally.Douk said:My only problem is that they rarely update their fucking game and when they do its something small that probably didn't take 4 weeks.
I would agree that their dev team is small enough that the tri-monthly updates are not unsurprising, but take a look at a developer like Wolfire games, their team consists of only 3 people with less money working on a considerably more technologically advanced game and they update almost every week. Im not saying Minecraft should update every week but when you see modders produce twice as much content in a fraction of the time you cant help but wonder if its worth waiting for Notch to make a Wolf in the same time it takes for modders to make a whole new game using the same engine. And the single wolf update breaks all the massive mods thus preventing people from enjoying a better version of the game. And the wolfs can be formed into a stupidly overpowered army that replaces all the other animals.Megacherv said:Oh, we don't mind people who just don't like it. What we don't like is people who either slag it off without having played it (e.g. "Derpderp graphics are shit, derpderp it looks boring derpderp"), or people who bought it and complain that it's not the greatest thing ever despite it being beta and being developed by just 6 people.ZiggyE said:This is everything I dislike about Minecraft fans.fletch_talon said:A misguided sense of entitlement and an often mistaken belief that they could do Notch's job better.
If you weren't happy with the features in the game at your time of purchase and weren't prepared to be patient, then you shouldn't have purchased it. The game is still getting updates as promised, until he stops updating completely nobody has a right to demand anything of him, and even then the game would have to have major bugs to warrant the level of whining people are currently coming out with.
Honestly, is it too hard to accept that we just don't like the game? No, we have to impatient or narcissistic.
Get rid of the holier-than-thou attitude.
Valve, Bioware and Nintendo are just too mainstream. In the Escapist, hipsters rule.jonyboy13 said:I doubt anyone hate them but they are really over rated in the March Mayhem. I mean come on, you can't say that it pwns valve, bioware and nintendo just because they got one game that is good IN THE BETA.
lolz its not even about that. How can people vote for a company because of one game which is in development and not companies with more than 3+ epic games?>>"The Human Torch said:Valve, Bioware and Nintendo are just too mainstream. Perhaps the people who've voted Mojang have received a greater amount of enjoyment from that one beta game (as you keep screaming) than those "3+ epic games".jonyboy13 said:lolz its not even about that.
