I don't hate the Wii but I certainly have stopped playing it - the controller is busted. I got the Wii when it first came out - now, the connection between the remote and the nunchuck is so wobbly and loose that the Wii keeps on pausing my game to get me to connect it again every few minutes or so.

The Wii has some good games on it. As a system, it's okay - not as good as the PS3 or the 360 in terms of pure processing power, but it's more powerful than the PS2 and the original Xbox, and Mario Galaxy proved it can host a good looking game.

However, like many other commentators on this thread, I started to hate the controls. Playing with the Wii controller did not feel comfortable unless I was standing up. This meant that I could play for only a few hours before getting a bit tired (I'm not fat, but then again, I'm not fit either). I hated to need to waggle in No More Heroes and in Twilight Princess. Like how Yahtzee and thousands of others pointed out, I grew to long for the traditional controller because the Wii controller wasn't (and still isn't) precise enough to emulate real life actions (I know they are brining out an add on to fix that, but that's coming out way too late). The only game I felt the controls were suited for was the latest WarioWare.

Plus, there aren't that many good games out for it anymore. I have SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, WarioWare: Smooth Moves and No More Heroes. The only other game I might get is Boom Blox. I hate sports games, so I'm not going to get any for the Wii. I don't like fighting games, so no Punch Out. I have heard of MadWorld, but it's too short to consider buying. The Wii is experiencing a games dry up right now. I haven't touched it in months. I might sell it soon.

The reason why the Wii is/was/will be hated is due to only 2 things:

1) No one likes Waggle. People do like real life motion sensitive controlls. That is not the same thing as waggle. Waggle gets boring. Nintendo were too late in bringing out the motion plus.

2) Lack of good third party games. Nintendo's Wii games are pretty good. Other than that..... the games are not so good. Sure, there's Suda51's games, and a few others, but apart from that, what is there?

They should have just stuck with normal controllers - they should have spent their R&D money on making their console more powerful. But the sad thing is, is that without Waggle, would as many people have paid attention to the Wii?

Because we were promised innovation and that's not what we got, and a lack of good third party games.

For what it is, the Wii is actually pretty impressive. I honestly enjoy the Wii when I play it, for the most part. With the Wii controller, you're interacting a lot more with the actual console and its games, unlike with the Xbox or the PS2 where you just press lots of buttons on a controller.

However, I do agree the motion sensor and games are highly lacking. I got very excited when it appeared I could do the wand movements for a spell, or actually wield a light saber, but I was sorely disappointed when the sensor didn't respond or assumed a different thing entirely.

I feel odd for saying this, but to me, with Wii games, it feels like there's something missing. It's like they lack substance. There have been good games - Wii Sports/Fit and all those other minigames (like Super Monkey Ball) - but when you try to be serious... it doesn't feel right.

I like the Wii, but it's definitely not a console I would choose to play over the others. I can understand why everyone dislikes it, though.
