Why do people ignore indiegogo?

I'm not exactly a crowdfunding aficionado but I've noticed that games on indiegogo tend to do worse then games on kickstarter.

I know that kickstarter offers features that indiegogo doesn't but the effect that choosing indiegogo has is a bit much.

Especially, since indiegogo seems more widespread.

Is there anything about indiegogo that pushes people away from it?

Because on Indiegogo, they get your money whether they make their goal or not. To me, it seems even more shady than kickstarter.

Not if they use the fixed funding option. That basically makes it like kickstarter.

It's also a project choice of project creator, when you create a project you can choose it is canceled if not fully funded.

For me projects tend be different, big projects are only on KS and its them that make you feel they are more successful. For small projects I don't know it's not that obvious.

Maybe it's because Kickstarter is currently more well known and more commonly used for these sorts of things. It's like how you could use MySpace to advertise your business but most people would use Facebook instead.

Kickstarting has a better ring to it then Indiegogoing? That and it doesn't feel as "niched" (perception wise) as something with "Indie" in the name.

Because we started using kick starter first and stick to the website we know.

Why do people still use YouTube when there's plenty of other video sites (even with all it's new bullshit? Like weaponised copyright strikes and google +)Because it's the comfortable choice.
