Seriously, I've seen 4 or 5 different topics pop up for this just this week. Why do people like Uncharted, why do people like Minecraft (the most recent ones I've seen), etc. It's ridiculous if you cannot understand that not everyone dislikes what you dislike or likes what you like. It rarely seems to be genuine curiosity, usually it is just "I played this and didn't like it. How can anybody like this?"
The two examples above are actually exceptions to this, but as with the case of Minecraft, the OP admitted that he only played the Xbox Live version and not the PC. Even if the topic had been changed to "PC gamers, what am I missing out on in Mincraft on the 360." That at least would be more acceptable as it asks more about the differences between the versions. But really, is it hard to believe that people just like building random things in the game and can be entertained, even if the OP couldn't? It's like asking why people enjoy playing with Legos. They just like to build stuff.
I remember a couple months back someone opened a topic asking why people liked Game of Thrones, but didn't want to hear about characters or plot, just why people liked it. I mean, really? That's like saying, tell me why you like a perfectly cooked steak, don't tell me about the flavor or texture, just why do you like it. That is just asinine.
Are we just that desperate for new topics that we have to throw in these relatively pointless threads? Is it just overinflated ego that these people just can't see past their own likes and dislikes? I don't know, maybe it's just the wording of the subject line in the topics, but it makes the OPs sound so full of themselves and blind to the opinions of others.
So, rant over. What do you all think? Am I blowing this out of proportion or is anyone else tired of these threads?
