Why do so many people not understand how to play a shooter?

I play league of legends a lot and there we have a level system. I am at max level of 30 and play with others at that level, but the stupidity knows no limits and over time I went far beyond frustrated. So by now I dont give a shit, I take my pride in doing my best, but I cant change my team. If they play like they are retared chimpanzees glued upside down to the chair, its a great success if they get anything done or the enemy team is even worse and only has lemurs.

Shit campers are the ones sat behind door ways, in dark and obscure corners, aiming down sights for minutes at a time. What goes through these people's minds?
in the good old days we would call that and only that camping. because if you get a good snyping spot and stay there or wait in an area where your weapon works for enemies(like staying inside a building with your shotgun and not run around in the wide open space outside) that is not camping, that is not playing like an idiot.

OP: did you ever play Quake 3? because camping was not the point of that game, the point of that game was to rocketjump around a pillar and shoot people in the back with a railgun
You ever seen sandy ravage with a shotgun? Look up "spaztex 130" on YouTube. Even pros playing old school fps played like that, watch fata1ity or 2gd...them guys don't stop moving.

Sitting in an obscure corner, ads with a shotgun not only pisses off your victim (cos he never had a chance, it wasn't down to skill) it must bore you to tears. It's like playing monopoly and not buying anything or worms and just building stuff.

The only reason they do it is to get a good k/d, which they never do! They always end up about 1.2 or 0.8, it's nothing.

They aren't going to improve by by acting like a turret, just continue to annoy people who are trying to improve.

I expected a rant, and that's what I got. You lost me at "the point of every shooter is to camp." You go on to say that you shouldn't be afraid of death. If you weren't afraid of death, you wouldn't camp (with the exception of snipers.)
Not really a rant. I'm just astounded with how many people don't understand the most basic concepts like doing the same thing over and over, it failing every time, and not thinking what I'm doing is just wrong. It doesn't take military level tactics to play these games, just simple common sense.

Every shooter is about rushing out to take key tactical spots on the map. You have to win a few gun battles to get to those spots so you can't be afraid to get shot, you have to be aggressive. Then, once you get to those good spots you camp them, you still move around so you don't get naded but you guard the same relative area. Once you get to the other team's spawn, you can't really move any where else.

Scanning over these posts make me so glad I left my multiplayer days behind with Perfect Dark. The point of playing is to sit in the same spot and mow down everyone that runs up to you? Where's the fun in that?

It's probably because modern shooters all have the same boring weapons/settings, but I'd prefer running all over a map trying to dodge bullets that fly through walls or not get remote mines stuck to my back before I can get the gun that lets me deploy it as a sentry turret, as opposed to picking any number of identical assault rifles that kill other players in three hits and have no personality whatsoever.

So yeah, don't sweat it OP, here's one less guy that won't be ruining your multiplayer by trying to have fun.

There is this thing called fun, its the reason some people play games. I dont play to win I play to have fun and since winning or losing does not effect my enjoyment of a game at all I dont care about it. If I want to run around with a crossbow, combat axe, and riot shield because its hella fun then that is exactly what I am going to do. If you dont like it then dont play in public groups by yourself. Find yourself some like minded friends and go play with them so we dont have to deal with your kind.

well, you do not want to play world of tanks then :/ not only do players need to know the maps and their place on it but they also need to know about stuff their tanks and the ones they go up against.
But most of the times you will see small fast tanks hide near the friendly base and slow heavy tanks climbing up hills.
And tanks actually meant to be the snipers (Tank destroyer's) are forced to be the front line.

I am not an fanatical player and i think a game should be fun, but part of the fun is coming together as a team and winning.
Only in WOT most of the times you either crush the enemy or you lose an entire team within 5 minutes :/
(oh and apparantly it is tradition to always blame the arty for everything while they have a reload of half a minute)

It is also a place where the word "noob" has lost it's meaning, if you know the weak points of an enemy tank and use it to your advantage you are automaticlly a cheater or a "gold noob" meaning that you shoot shells that cost actuall money.
