"realism is NOT the direction in which we want to take games?"
speak for your self i like realism in games
"I mean honestly, what's the point? Don't most of us play games to ESCAPE the irritating quirks of reality?"
no i play games for fun and a challenge, and i find having to take the wind into account when i fire my sniper a challenge and all the more stasfying
"So what's your opinion on realism in games? Which games make realism work? Which don't?"
it, like everything else, has its place in gaming. Dont like realism then play games which dont ad-hear to the real word
"Is it a good thing that gaming is going in that direction, or should we stick to the stuff that makes games like God Hand and Zelda, among so may others, great?"
well they also have realism im, you need to breath, you can die, gravity still works. They just dont have so much realism
anyway if you think battlefield and cod are "realistic" go try games like arma2, X3, total war
