Why do tumblr kids think they are superior?

Just made an account on tumblr; my girlfriend was interested and asked me to. I usually post just pictures of nights out, stuff I like and what not (much like a blog... lol). But every person on there acts like they are gods gift to the internet, simply because they had an account on tumblr before everyone else. Doesn't that just mean they should probably find a hobby? They all claim to be original but post nothing of original thought... I don't know what I am trying to get at ... just most of the stuff I see has been on 4chan and other places way before so I do not know why they think they are the first to everything.

What do you guys think?

I honstly have no idea waht tumblr is (didnt care to look into it after i got my myspace [when it was dying] and only recently got on facebook because everyone said i should and it was the best way to keep up with friends going to other schools), so they can feel as superior as the want.

as to why they do, Id ont know. I guess the same reason people feel special when they like an underground band before its "discovered". just the rights to say FIRST!. Just let them have their little battles. it may be the highlight of their day.

Hipsters have really changed in what they are defined as. They usually do have these kind of nice items, but they hide it with fake glasses or other silly stuff... It's kinda the hipster way.
I have never been to Tumblr but what I know about it I learned from FJ, where I have been taught that they are hipster scum who repost lame stuff, so no reason to see them as superior to anyone.
