I've been wondering over the past few days. It came across to me while playing Uncharted 2. I started to try and answer that question by myself and had me stumped. Do we fight for the thrill and excitement , or is it a question of honour or mentality for others. It could just simply boil down to human nature, back when we were primitive people and would settle disputes with clenched fist.
I would like to know what conclusion you lot can come to.
Cause if you don't fight the other team captures the Golden Treasure. Stop day dreaming and help Tenzin save his daughter you fool.

We fight because it's the best way to prove who's right.
It makes the winner look stronger
We fight to protect people
We fight because it's human nature.

As much as modern fighting is fairly pointless, in the past fighting has advanced the progression of civilization. Without fighting, the strongest guy would take over everything, uninterupted.

Unfortunately, there is no justification for fighting today, it's all a big dick waving contest. A contest where alot of innocent people are dying in the process. OK, that's enough of my hippy, sentimental side.

Why do we fight?

We fight for love, honor, defeat and victory. we fight for the rich and powerful as well for the meek and useless.

But most all of, we fight for:

and for me, that is all that matters

There are far too many reasons to count, thrills, instincts, fear, religion, resources, energy. All because everything can work out how you want it to if the other guy is lying face down in a pool of his own blood.

We're never content with what we have. We always want more, and when we can't get more by usual means, we fight for it.

Why do we fight?
Perspective, my inquisitive friend.

Some do fight just because they are human. Others fight for safety, honor, dignity...

Others fight for joy, death, to feel better, because it is all they know....

Fighting is a simple thing. Why we fight is far more complex.

Well on the simplest levels it is just plain fun. Bar fights and all that sort of shit. And then there is always the feeling of wanting to be better that the next guy.

We have violent tendencies and massive amounts of testosterone coursing through our fight and the only way to release it is to throw some fists at flesh every so often.
