If people say they don't. They're either lying to look cool or they are by definition a sociophath. Possibly a psychopath.

Any-way. I fear death because I don't want to cease existing. It's not too complex. I just don't want to stop existing. It's not a crippling fear. It doesn't stop me from doing stupid things, like jumping across roof tops. Or doing daft backflips off a wall into a pool. Even climbing across balconies when I'm 12 stories up. Being afraid of dying just means you have a healthy will to live. It doesn't have any effect on your life.
I don't have to fear something to not want it to happen.

I don't fear death. I don't want to die.

If I die, I won't be around to regret not doing certain things in life anyway.

Because of the pain I might feel just before? Natural instinct to live as long as possible?

Who knows? I certainly don't.

I do not fear death. I know death, yet to fear it, one must first taste life...
I am lifeless, therefore death has nothing to take from me.

Not so much a fear of having everything taken away from me, since I wouldn't be able to realize that if I were dead. Mostly just the fear of the unknown. Pretty sure I just rot in the ground though.

Because if God and heaven don't exist, then after you die, there's nothing.

Someone people wonder what it's like after you die, and I figure it's a lot like it was before you were born.

Nothing.

And I'm not a big fan of that.

The way I view it, it going to be worse than being alive. Therefore, I fear it.

Because I love being alive, and I don't want everything about me, all conscious thought, taken away.

It scares the hell out of me. That's more a fear of dying though, once I'm dead I'll stop caring.

Because I'd meet Rasputin. Sonuvabitch creeps me out >.>

Also because I haven't yet seen the tank to which I can honestly say: "that, right there, is the purest form of war - bring my hat".

Oh, and because I had a few brushes with death. (ok, 2 - a speeding train missed me by a few inches, and I had some serious pain in me chest - considering that heart trouble is the No. 1# death cause in our family, that's really bad news for me) When you think you might just die any second, you really, really don't give a shit about any Nietsche Wannabeeness or whatever. You just want to survive.

Personally, at the moment, I don't. But when faced with mortal danger I think my instincts will kick in and I'll fight to not die. Human nature and all that.

If anything else, I'm more curious about death then afraid. I've always been like this with nearly everything 'scary'. I'd always obsess about these things by wanting to know how they 'work'.
