Why do YOU hate racism?

i hate it and i mean i hate it. i live in north carolina and im white and i date a black woman and everybody just has a comment about it. we have been going out for 2 years and yet people still have a problem with it. that is why i truly hate racism. because it denies me the joy of love in life.

Surely a thread on "why do you love racism?" is a going to provoke more discussion and pointless pontification. Is there going to be anybody here who will claim anything more interesting than anecdotal diatribe? I don't like racism because it doesn't give people a chance. However, in the amount of times I've been mugged - the majority of it has been at the hands of 15 or so Lebanese boys. Is it racist if I steer clear of them in the street? No. Is it racist if I don't buy a house in a Lebanese area? No. The fact is, race is often mixed with economic standing, and economic standing is relative to crime. I'm saying "avoid the poor people who always mug me due to inexplicable social and masculinity issues" which in this case translates to "ah, don't go down there mate, there are tonnes of lebs." A group of people with a distinct nationality are an easier identifier. That's why "lads/chavs" are called "lads/chavs". They may be white, but we've named them to identify them.
Something I do find ironic though, is the way the "n" word has somehow become paradoxically cool and evil. Double standards are a bizarre thing.

I hate Racism in no small part because Conflicts are about as sacred to me as Sex is to other people. Fighting or even mocking people over petty reasons such as race, religion and, as seen in fora such as this, fandom, cheapens Conflict. Fighting for survival is noble but the racists fear for the survival of an empty concept of 'Race'. 'Race' is just the human equivalent of 'breed'. Poodles aren't genetically superior to Laborador Retrievers and Shelties are not lesser dogs than collies. For that matter, Mutts are some of the best dogs of all.
Just keep the fight honest and leave personal preferences disguised as issues of grave importance out of it.

It is one of the myriad forms of ignorance, all of which grate on me like salt in an open wound.
I'm going to go ahead and say that you're bullshitting us to sound noble, and have no real experience with racism in order to garner a reply from you, because asking you to simply expand on this lofty, feathery, go-with-the-herd statement is too boring.I_LIKE_CAKE said:

I'd have to say I hate racism the way I'd hate the symptoms of a nasty disease. It's a sign of ignorance, immaturity, indoctrination, or a combination of the aforementioned; those who've developed (or discovered) a world view that's not so narrow will see through the lies of racism's propagators in a second.
Racism exists because people are scared of differences or things they cannot explain. We would all be racist to aliens from outer space because we would know nothing about them. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. I think Yoda said it best.
People just look for excuses to see how we are all different from one another. Or at least that's how how people have been taught to think. There have been many cases of people of different race co-existing harmonically till some other guy came and told them it's wrong and that they should hate eachother instead. Just look at the Balkans, and it's not even different skin colour here, just different "race". Before the 19th century nationalism, everyone was fine, as long as they were orthodox and not muslim. But that's a different story.
It all begs the question: if, one day, we make contact with aliens, will humans finally see how similar they are and suddenly become "specieist" towards the aliens? One could say however that some sort of specieism is already going on, at the cost of every living thing on earth save humans.
