Self explanatory. Why do you like where you live?

I live in Kansas City, and we have the best BBQ in the world, and BBQ is the best food in the world, therefore we have the best food in the world. Probably the universe too, but yeah.

Also lets just keep positive.

If you don't like your home town, then don't bother answering.

Because we've got one of the most successful transit systems in North America, and it's pretty here. Downtown's got worthwhile stuff in it, and we're really, really multicultural.

Because both my hometowns (UK) are generally quiet and middle-class, have a reasonable student nightlife, lots of faciluties but not as large a big city etc

I liked how it was such a waste land, causing me to want to leave and do something with my life no matter what it took.

My hometown actually doesn't exist anymore. When I grew up there the population was 60. (My immediate family was 8 of that btw)

Not really, that's why I moved. Last time I went to visit, the whole city centre had been dug up and they had just abandoned it. It looks shite.
This year I'm moving to Leeds which is right next door. Leeds is lovely and near enough to my family to see them regularly, but not for them to pester me constantly.

Everything is two steps from my house. Movie theater, bank, fast food, car wash, barbers, music shop, mechanic, even a bowling alley.

'Tis an awesome place to live.

I don't live in a town...

I like my road, I guess. It'd be cool if there was a sidewalk, but the ditch is more important. Also, it could probably have a few less potholes and maybe some road paint, but whatever.

Also, some people down the road can't keep track of their fucking animals, so every few days I have to walk their cow/horse/duck (seriously) back to them.

Please look to the Opening Post before giving me a warning. He edited his original post. Saying I don't enjoy my hometown is enough to add to this discussion rather then listing a bunch of stuff that I dislike about it whereas nobody else can really say much about it either.

I don't care for it, but I do like that I can walk down most streets without it being completely crowded.

Its a perfect blend of rural farmland and downtown suburban without being to large. I can easily travel north up to mountains or head south towards the city.

Also surprisingly safe town compare to its neighbors.

Nah, it's not been abandoned, they are still working on it every time I walk past. I'm pretty sure I've heard from other locals that it's all way behind schedule though, which is no surprise in this country, every project is either over budget or behind schedule. usually both, actually...

OT: I don't really have a hometown per se, given I'm from a little village in the middle of nowhere, but the best thing about the area in general is that it's quiet! Which is good for me, given I'm completely hopeless with people as a rule. Oh, it also has lots of opportunity to go on long walks, given it's right at the foot of the Pennines.

I suppose one aspect I like about my town is when it's the summer, it can become quite lively over here (I live in a beach resort type of town).

I like St. Louis a lot because its got a lot of attractions like a big city except they are all either free or less than $5 to get into which is nice. Also there are a ton of cool festivals and stuff over the summer!

Well, I'm not in love with the place, but it's alright, I guess. Once you get past the junkies, the drunks, the racists, the sexists, the adults who act younger than their kids, the falling down schools, the corrupt cops....

But there is one reason I really, really like this place: Every murder to happen here has gone unsolved. Rather spooky, if you ask me.

Actually, I also like it here because I discovered my desire to be a writer here... and I also met the girl I am now convinced I'm in love with.
