It's London, and therefore has pretty much everything I could ever want. Very few people have the access to facilities and entertainment that I have. On the downside, it's kinda ruined me for anywhere else.

My hometown was a crappy little village with about 15 people in it, but now it's awesome as the new lead singer of Dragonforce lives there.

Not really, that's why I moved. Last time I went to visit, the whole city centre had been dug up and they had just abandoned it. It looks shite.
This year I'm moving to Leeds which is right next door. Leeds is lovely and near enough to my family to see them regularly, but not for them to pester me constantly.
Nah, it's not been abandoned, they are still working on it every time I walk past. I'm pretty sure I've heard from other locals that it's all way behind schedule though, which is no surprise in this country, every project is either over budget or behind schedule. usually both, actually...
ah, I seee. They dug up another part of the city centre about 5 years ago(?) and apparently the company that did it went bankrupt, I heard. So there's just a big gaping hole that was supposed to be another shopping centre. They're always doing some sort of work on the city centre though.
I'm also impressed you guess I meant Bradford even though I didn't mention it :p xD

eeehhh its all right, the good thing about my hometown (Erie, Pennsylvania) is that its not far away from places like Pittsburgh or Cleveland places you want to go to. another upside is were cool enough that we get our own minor league sports teams (the Erie seawolves and the bayhawks but they have a habit of being very very terrible but at least we can say we have them. The biggest downside is that we live right near the lake and because of that we get the great phenomenon known as "lake effect snow" which is basically more snow then we would normally get if we didn't have the lake. On the subject of the lake we also have a beach, but they aren't that awesome but hey we can say we have them even if they are terrible. So in general I am all right with my hometown I could live in a better place but it could be worse.

Hehe, in fairness, I remembered from the 'Where are you from?' thread that was making the rounds a while back. Though saying Leeds is right next door is also somewhat of a giveaway :)

Yeah, I think I know where you mean for that, it's just down from the station I use to go to and from home. As of late last year they've taken down a small portion of all the fencing around it, and now there's a bit of grass, a path, and a couple of benches. I really don't know why they bothered...

I like the fact that my hometown has so many stupid people in it that I can get a good chuckle every time I walk out the front door.

Well that all depends on what you consider my hometown. I never stayed in one place as a kid. Still I lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for long enough as a youngin. It's not my favorite place in the world, but I loved fishing. The Gulf is great for that. There where also actual beaches, and it didn't rain nine months out of the year.

Wouldn't trade it for Washington. I near the same city I was born in right now, and it's great. The people are awesome, Seattle is just a 15 minute drive and a ferry ride away, yet I live on 32 acres of land in the boonies. There really is no other place like the Pacific Northwest.

I build a site, I charge them money, I play some games, I walk out my downstairs rec room, across the street, through a short path in the trees, less than a minute, and surf my own break. It doesn't get more simple than that. 1s, 0s, and tide charts.

Douglasville, Georgia.

Wonderful weather (most of the time), overall nice people, and it's only a stone's throw from Atlanta. Not to mention it's got its own mall.

Mostly because of how casual it is, the downtown culture, and the fact that because it's a university town there's lots of younger people.

I don't live there anymore, so I guess it isn't exactly my hometown, but I still know it just as well as I know this town. I like it because it's small, but not too small, and has beaches. I love the coast.

For no real reason other than it being my hometown. Pretty standard town with some castle ruins thrown in and that's about it. There are/have been two different bomb squads based here over the years which is handy I guess.

One word: Cheesesteaks (Yep, I'm from Philly).
Note to self: Do not google food when insanely hungry. My god, I could totally kill for a bite of that.

OT: I dunno, I guess the schools are good, and the people are friendly (mostly).

NYC? It has like, everything. Granted, I'm moving out of here in a few months to head off to Columbus, and I'm looking forward to that (I need to get out of the city for a few years), but it's one of the most densely populated urban areas in the Western Hemisphere, and it's by far the richest urban area. I know so many great people, too.
