Why do you still play COD?

And I know you do.

Is it because people on your friends list are?

You don't have any other FPS to satisfy you?

Not into the tactical-ness of Battlefields, KZs, SOCOMS?

Haven't even tried other shooters?

Due to splitscreen online not in many games

I ask this because I honestly can't play COD for more than a few matches (by myself that is, I can play longer when playing with my bro splitscreen). It lags to much, the hit detection is terrible, campers are everywhere, disgusting (yet hilarious) emblems, and all the little kids making stupid jokes.

Why do people still play it though?

(I expect to see many, "because its fun" comments, but other shooters are fun also)

Because 4 years later, Call of Duty 4 is still the best multiplayer shooter on the market that still has a decent amount of people playing it. I'd still be playing Halo 2 if the servers weren't shut off, though.

I found Battlefield to be pretty awful to be honest with you. The controls felt like playing underwater compared to the responsiveness of Call of Duty. I'm not a big fan of vehicles in my multiplayer either, particularly when they're overpowered. At least in Halo the vehicles are balanced and pretty easy to get rid of.

If you want to fix your lag and hit detection problems, play one of the Modern Warfare games. Treyarch games are notorious for having awful netcode that leads to poor hit detection and weird lag. Both WaW and Black Ops have atrocious hit detection.

1. The controls feel better to me than any other shooter

2. It's fast paced

3. 60 Frames Per Second

4. It's fun a lot of the time, but yeah - I usually can't handle it for more than 5 or 6 games these days.

Because Der Riese was the best map that they ever made for Nazi Zombies, and I refuse to leave it behind.

Because Blops has bots in split screen MP I can throw tomahawks at. That amuses me for longer then it should.

Because it has faster action and more responsive controls than any other shooter out there.

Even though it sucks the hit detection is waaay better than any battlefield game though, especially BC2.

Yup, hit detection in BFBC2 is terrible as well. I've been playing CoD4 on the side when bored just to entertain myself.

Not enough of my friends play BF2 or BF2142 anymore and I hate playing those games without teammates I can count on. I'd play Crysis but no one plays it anymore.

I'm personally looking forward to Brink.

Because it is the best shooter out there in my opinion, and it is fun to play.

It never lags for me, always a good connection apart from the rare bad host. The hit detection is completely fine I honestly have no idea where people get that complaint from.

You can easily avoid campers by, you know, not actually going to the spot where they are (this is the most obvious solution), I find there are not that many campers anyway...

Oh, and there is a thing called the mute button :)
(something I have pointed out multiple times)

meh, I don't play shooters that much now anyway, Fifa 11 is my main game at the moment :D

Because even though it's irritating, it can still be a lot of fun. I play with friends only now, though, it's become more of a social thing for me.

I have a good group to play Domination with. We're not the best in the world, but our teamwork and common sense triumph over most teams we face. It's fun, easy, and accessible. First person shooters are the genre i'm least talented in, and even i have fun with my team.

Turn your volume down

The hit detection is bad. The thing I hate the most about the lag is when you knife someone then the y knife you AFTER. You watch the killcam saying "WTF!?" and see that on his screen you didn't even knife.

BO is the reason I HAD to buy a 100ft ethernet cable. Unless I'm playing at 18mb/s the game is unplayable.

EDIT: Heres another one for good measure.

Again lower the volume,. The guy gets pretty agitated. lol

It has more than a fair share of imbalances but you spend the least amount of time looking at a loading screen or a matchmaking search.

Halo's my favorite FPS, but if there was one thing I'd like from CoD/Battlefield/other games to be adapted into it is dynamic player leaving and joining.

Yes it's annoying when you get thrown into a game where the enemy is completely dominating or can barely spawn before the game ends but it's better than the game being ruined by quitters. I can hardly tell when people quit in CoD Team Deathmatch.

Well I know for sure I have never experienced that, looks like he is playing the xbox 360 version same as me, maybe its down to the connection, but I have never had hit detection problems, even on launch day.

Also, on the last one he actually misses most of the bullets due to they recoil of the gun.

Because the Original Call of Duty Games was probably one of the best games of the last decade?

Just a suggestion....

Well, if I did, it would be because I didn't accept you as the All Knowing God Emperor of What Games I Should Like, but I haven't actually played COD for quite some time. Of course, I haven't played games period for quite some time, but I don't really want to play COD, either.

Because the multiplayer does indeed suck.
