Actually I did like and watch Ruroni Kenshin, Kenshi Myuo*sp was lame in all its incarnations

Also kindaaa liked A wind Named Amnesia, Howls Moving Castle, However my Neighbor Tortoro was cute but really effiinnggg pointlessss.

Cowboy Bebop was hella good, just finished it. I tried watching Fist of the North starm but it got repetitive QUICKK..
Full Metal was dumb at first but it got better, from what I seen the second remade series is better.

I just never dug the over emotional kind of anime where "If you belive in yourself and the power of friendship your power will be stronger and your 15 year old person will defeat the evil power!" kind of crap.
If you liked Cowboy Bebop you should give Tri-Gun a shot, it might start out a little bit goofy and wacky, but it become pretty serious.
Also, you should at least try watching the following

Black Lagoon
Blue Gender
Escaflowne (both the show and the movie)
Gantz
the newer version of Guyver (the one with twenty six episodes)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (show and both new and old movies)
And you should check out the movies 'Summer Wars' and 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Well, that power of friendship crap, as you aptly called it, is mostly confined to the anime series that are aimed at a younger audience in Japan. Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and the like all fit into the genre of Shonen, which means "boy's comics" -- or more specifically, little boys comics. While they're generally treated in a way that older people can unplug their brains and enjoy as well, writing off anime because of those series would be like writing off western (as in, from the west, not the genre) movies because you didn't like Kung Fu Panda.

If you liked Cowboy Bebop, I heartily recommend you try out Outlaw Star. You may also like Trigun, but I've never watched it, so I don't know how similar it is to Cowboy Bebop in terms of the maturity level of the writing. I do, however, know that it's incredibly popular with the kind of anime fan who actually knows something about anime, and not just the weaboos who watch Inuyasha and Naruto and think they know everything about Japanese culture because of it.

One final thing: you never did say whether you were watching these series dubbed or subbed. English dubbed anime was never particularly good, and it took a nosedive somewhere in the mid 2000's -- you're much better off watching it subbed, for the reasons I listed in my earlier post.
I usually watch in English if I can. Japanese voice actors tend to be terrible... Hellsing ova IS AN EXAMPLE... The only thing good about origional is that they are often uncencored or unedited.
English voice actors tend to be even worse than the Japanese ones, though -- and they add in the translation problems that I mentioned. Ever watch Zeta Gundam? The English voice acting is some of the worst acting I've ever seen/heard -- and I've watched The Room. The Japanese voice acting, on the other hand, fits the series quite nicely.

The only shows I really watch have all already ended. Besides Cowboy Bebop, Bobobo Bo Bobobo Rouroni Kenshin, and Dragon Ball(all of them), I cannot really think of any that have continuously held my attention. Most anime frankly just sucks, but I guess that applies to everything.
