Remarks like these are why I write smart-ass comments in the first place. Hey, at least it gives you the jist of the gameplay, I don't think Rising was trying to be anything other than over the top fun, which is succeeds at perfectly. In the very first level you suplex a METAL GEAR?! Then run along a stream of rockets, down a collapsing clock tower and stab its face in with a samurai sword to the tune of some kick ass metal.LaoJim said:Picking a game I only got from Amazon this morning:
It's not exactly doing the medium's claims to maturity any favours..."Cut at will! METAL GEAR RISING is a stunning epic action game set in the METAL GEAR SOLID universe. You take control of Raiden, a cyborg ninja armed with a High-Frequency Blade which can cut through virtually anything. Feel the full 360-degree blade control and experience a new kind of METAL GEAR game!
Every now and then me and several of my friends organize a lan party and we play CoD2 and MoH:AA. While some mechanics didn't age well, the games are a 100 times more interesting to play than any modern shooter in the last generation besides Tribes:Ascend during the beta.Evonisia said:I'd be more annoyed but then I realised something. Has anybody tried playing Call of Duty 1 and 2 these days? They've aged so badly.Gundam GP01 said:They're advertising their popularity, not their quality.Diesel- said:No its not. COD1 and UO were only good one. then series going downhill but become more mainstream.
its a mainstream franchise praise by corrupt mainstream media because its popular.
Furthermore, quality is a purely subjective thing for basically every aspect of a game barring things like polycount, resolution and framerate.
Not everyone has your elitist PC fanboy taste in videogames.
Some people like JRPGs and linear action games.
Call of Duty 3 at least has stayed the same, even if the game itself wasn't anything special.
You sure about this? The image is well over 50% screenshots, the text is the usual copyright drone and there're no press blurbs of any kind. There're only two marketing lines in the image: one talks about its new multiplayer/mod feature, the other states it's the best-selling FPS in history. Which it is. Promotion blurbs are usually lies anyway, why take offense with the ones that are true? Marketing 101.Sean Hollyman said:Seriously. All the boxes I've seen since CoD 4 have 'THE BEST SELLING FRANCHISE OF ALL TIME' plastered on it. And every year the box shows less and less, and more dickriding from reviewers about how 'good' the game is.
