I just hate the idea that you can commit a serious crime and still be immensely successful in a major sport. To put things in perspective, you can be barred from playing a game for disrespecting an official, something completely legal to do like calling the guy a fucking dumbass. Well shit, if you can be kicked out for doing something completely legal, imagine if you do something illegal like raping women or murdering a bunch of animals. What? No consequences? Oh well, that's sports for you.
Michael Vick didn't even get kicked out of the NFL, he just lost his place because he wasn't fulfilling his contractual obligations since he was sort of in prison.
Sports and honour seem to go hand in hand, so it just doesn't make sense that obviously horrible human beings are allowed to compete and be successful at it when there are so many talented guys with clean records just begging for a chance to prove themselves in the lower leagues. Michael Vick went bankrupt after going to jail, and I thought it was a fitting punishment, he had wealth and fame and he completely blew it, then they let him back in the NFL to become rich and famous again. The guy had his chance and he threw it away, why bring him back?
