I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Games are supposed to only add on minor additions and tweaks? First of all, a lot of people like original games like, say, Psychonauts. (Just an example.) Psychonauts, while it may have taken some pointers from other games and movies, it didn't add minor tweaks and changes to something that already existed. The art was not from a previous game, nor was the soundtrack, cast of characters, or exact method of playing and combat.lokun489 said:that is what games are suppossed to do however ea doesnt add enough is what you mean.Omikron009 said:People hate it because sports games are boring and unfun, and EA releases what's essentially the same game with minor additions and tweaks every year.
lol yeah the ads are awesome (mostly) but it does grate when they are on every 0.2 secondsSpekter068 said:Oh, come on. The ads during the superbowl are the best we see (in the US of A) all damn year. They're a big part of why I even watch.YouCallMeNighthawk said:I love watching NFL on tv especially the superbowls (when it isn't interrupted by adverts every play!!!!)
But when it comes to the games i don't enjoy playing them, no particular reason just can't get into them which saddens me because i bet they are alot of fun.
To me, watching football is something I would like to do in a group, or with someone like my one-hundred-year-old granddad (the last game he watched made him throw his cane at the TV in frustration- hilarious). Gaming is something I do alone, because having to tell a mob of advice-spewing friends to fuck off is rather distracting. The Madden series just takes the worst of both worlds and glues them together.
Pfff. Most of the US says the exact same thing about what we call soccer and the rest of the world calls football. Given the choice, I would much rather watch Americanischefußball than Fußball. On TV, the former looks rather like some sort of ancient military exercise (imagination required), while the latter looks too much like a bunch of marbles rolling about in a bowl.Dys said:American football is quite possibly the least entertaining thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching....Having the same boring sport simulated in an annual release, all of which are largely the same, is bland.
However, I prefer playing soccer because the cuts in the action are few and far between, and also because I've been on the bottom of a football pigpile more than once, and I nearly suffocated. The worst thing that's going to happen to you in soccer is getting kicked in the shins- much more refined.
Oh I hate watching the sport, that doesn't mean I don't think going to a game would be amazing fun. I'm not the biggest cricket fan, but I've never (and never will) turned down an opportunity to go to the boxing day test, it's just a fantastic day and the atmosphere is unlike anything else I've experienced.Just_A_Glitch said:To each his own, I guess. I've never been more bored than the day that my father took to out to the ballgame, whereas the football game we went to is still one of the highlights of my life.Dys said:Still not the best viewing experience, but it's less stop-start and is much simpler, therefore easier to watch. American football looks like an overcomplicated, slowed down version of rugby, Baseball doesn't look like an inferior version of a foreign game so I don't sit there thinking "why would anyone bother with this over cricket" or whatever.Just_A_Glitch said:Whoa whoa whoa! Hang on a minute... What about Baseball?Dys said:American football is quite possibly the least entertaining thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching....Having the same boring sport simulated in an annual release, all of which are largely the same, is bland.
However, baseball was my favorite sport to play when I was younger. I was damned good. I wish I hadn't stopped playing. Could have possibly gone somewhere with it.
Maybe most of the US do prefer it to soccer (I'd compare American football to rugby over soccer, but I don't imagine many Americans know what rugby[footnote]Rugby is a game, played with a an oval like ball, where big blokes pretty much charge each other and try to score a try (essentially the same thing as a touchdown in your game), one can kick a field goal but a try is worth considerably more points). To watch, it looks a bit like American football, except the clubs don't constantly stop the game to change players or strategy.[/footnote] is). I'd apply the same logic to the FIFA games as I would to the madden games anyway: They are repetitive and boring, typically hated by gamers because it's nearly always more fun to go out and play soccer than sit in front of a screen and yell at an annually released game that's barely changed in the past 10 years (I will concede I've had some fun while playing a FIFA or even an NHL game, but that's purely because it's competitive and I was playing with mates, they are still terrible games).Spekter068 said:Pfff. Not really, because going outside with a gun, or having some dangerous street race is actually dangerous. Playing sport with some people does come with the risk of injury, but doesn't have the added danger of either killing people or ending up in gaol.Firetaffer said:I generally agree with the fact that sports games aren't usually fun.SL33TBL1ND said:Pretty much this, but also, if you want to play sports, you should play sports.Omikron009 said:People hate it because sports games are boring and unfun, and EA releases what's essentially the same game with minor additions and tweaks every year.
But it's like saying 'If you want to play counter-strike, go outside with a gun.'
or 'If you want to race, get your car and race.'
even 'If you want to role-play go and role-play'

Oh, Christ, yes. I live in New England, so naturally it's 'Tom Brady this, Tom Brady that...' The man spends more time getting interviewed for the tabloids than actually doing his job- if it can indeed be called a job.YouCallMeNighthawk said:lol yeah the ads are awesome (mostly) but it does grate when they are on every 0.2 secondsSpekter068 said:Oh, come on. Also football used to be a good game until it became about getting freekicks and penalties in stead of you know ... SCORING GOALS!!!!
but referee he looked at me wrong he needs to be sent off! bunch of whiney over paid babies!!
Now American footballers take the full force of a slam and get back up and carry on. Same is with rugby much more of a mans sports compared to football.
Ugh, I hate watching football. They all get in their little lines, movie for ten god damn seconds, and stop, fuck around a bit, and then move again. It's so stilted.Spekter068 said:Oh, come on.
