Why does everyone hate the PS3?

So i've been looking around youtube and i've noticed that everyone is hating on and dissing the PS3, saying the XBOX 360 is better. my older brother even said that XBOX is better than PS3 because it gets all the dlc before PS3 does. Well then, XBOX, how do you explain the fact that you are draining people's money? you, microsoft, make your customers pay 59.99 every year to unlock the full potential of your console, and in my opinion that's evil. i'm not a PS3 fanboy, BTW, so before trolling hate comments at me, finish reading. i love my PS3, i think it's reliable and easy to manage (free2play for me!). but the big question is obvious: Why, people? why does everyone hate the PS3? i know it's been through stormy weather what with the outage during the spring, but i just want to say that the terrorist cell called anonymous is to blame, not sony being a dumb stupid company that must be burned and condemned. i just want people to leave the PS3 alone, and i want all the hate to stop, the PS3 doesn't deserve this, and despite the fact that right now you are probably thinking "lol what a fag u are so stupid and gay XBOX iz bettr than PS3 stupid fagboy hahahahahahahahaha what a stoopid N00b", you are wrong. the PS3 and XBOX each have their own ups and downs, and the XBOX has some major errors (particularly xbox LIVE's retarded pay2play crap, fuck u microsoft cheapskates), but they can be fixed (if bill gates kills his addiction to money, like that's even possible) in time.

See, this is where you made the mistake. Youtube is the cesspool of the internet, when you look at the comments(among other sites). Don't ever take anything seriously, that's posted on there, because chances are, that neither have the poster in question. There are so many trolls, flamers and douchebags on there, it's not even funny. I stopped reading most comments a long, long time ago and use Youtube primarily for the videos, I mean hell, I don't even have an account on there, since nothing and no one is worth debating there.

EDIT: And also, as stated above, from both sides are pretty much equal, if just depends on where you look, really.

My advice would to just stop paying attention. What anyone says on the internet is only important if you give it attention, so console wars can be easily ignored. I disagree entirely with everyone who says this. I have both an XBOX and a PS3, and I find them good. It's reliable, but there are some issues when it comes to their internet usage. I don't have wireless. The outage actually was in part Sony's fault, with their security being fairly underdeveloped (if I remember right).

I can't say that I like Microsoft's approach to internet either. But they need to generate revenue and that's one way they chose to do it. If you have a PS3 and don't use Xbox Live, then it shouldn't affect you, brother. The XBOX's "major errors" aren't the xbox's fault. It's the fault of whoever at the company decides those things. Bill Gates didn't decide, so blaming him is kind of not cool. There's a lot of anger in your post.

The PS3 is reliable and solid as a system, despite minor errors like it freezing up on me and my lack of wireless for the internet. The games are good, the tech behind the system is good.

The XBOX does have some issues from a technical standpoint. RRoD's and (lately for me) disc reading issues, but those can be fixed within two days. Literally. I sent my Xbox in for tech support and it was back with me in 2 days (Disc tray issues).

Cursing at Microsoft on this forum won't really help your argument. I read it and thought "Wow, man... If you want the hate to stop, you need to stop hating too."

Lastly, you may not be a self-proclaimed PS3 fanboy, but in your argument, you repeatedly state the PS3's perceived advantages over the XBOX and defend Sony for the fiasco last year, whilst talking bad about the XBOX and Microsoft's policies. I'm not calling you a fanboy either, but your argument is written from the point of view of what most people consider a fanboy (i.e. attacking one company while loyally defending the other). I respect your loyalty to your chosen system, brother, but other people might not.

I believe it is because of PSN getting hacked. Lots of people were pretty pissed off that they got hacked and couldn't play online for a while. Oh and the fact the PS3 was $1000 on launch. That was WAY too expensive.

I believe they are both good consoles and it depends on your own opinion.

I have both consoles, and a gaming PC. So I don't hate any of them, and really, most people don't hate the "other side".
As always in these things, a tiny, yet very vocal minority makes itself heard above the much larger group of people who really aren't that bothered.

I have both PS3 and the 360, as well as a gaming PC. All three of them have things I like and things I don't like. I'll be honest though, I use my PS3 the least of the three. It's nothing the system does, per say. It's the fact that I really hate the controller. I just can't use it well. The loose triggers and layout just annoy me. That doesn't stop me from playing exclusives like InFamous and enjoying them though.

I also really don't like Sony as a company, especially after the way they handled the GeoHotz case (not neccessarily taking him down per say, but the fact they demanded the IP addess of every person who'd seen his videos). The way they handled the PSN outage, on top of the outage itself, was another major blow (and don't blame it on Anon without proof. Nobody knows who did it for sure and throwing blame onto the easiest target doesn't make it true that they did it).

Of course, there are plenty of problems with my 360 as well, and many more for PC. But for both of them, I can use a controller I'm much more comfortable with. Since you'll be interacting with that the most out of anything, I'd say the controller is one of the most important things there is about a system.

i'm sorry if i come off as a fanboy, i was pretty damn enraged when my XBOX LIVE membership expired, i was angry about it for a long time because i couldn't go online for a year, and then i finally got around to buying a 3-month membership which also has expired. i'm not trying to be a fanboy, i've just had a lot of anger building up that i just kinda blew up, i lost it for a while, y'know?
