Why does everyone hate the PS3?

I disagree entirely with everyone who says this. I have both an XBOX and a PS3, and I find them good. It's reliable, but there are some issues when it comes to their internet usage. I don't have wireless. The outage actually was in part Sony's fault, with their security being fairly underdeveloped (if I remember right).

I can't say that I like Microsoft's approach to internet either. But they need to generate revenue and that's one way they chose to do it. If you have a PS3 and don't use Xbox Live, then it shouldn't affect you, brother. The XBOX's "major errors" aren't the xbox's fault. It's the fault of whoever at the company decides those things. Bill Gates didn't decide, so blaming him is kind of not cool. There's a lot of anger in your post.

The PS3 is reliable and solid as a system, despite minor errors like it freezing up on me and my lack of wireless for the internet. The games are good, the tech behind the system is good.

The XBOX does have some issues from a technical standpoint. RRoD's and (lately for me) disc reading issues, but those can be fixed within two days. Literally. I sent my Xbox in for tech support and it was back with me in 2 days (Disc tray issues).

Cursing at Microsoft on this forum won't really help your argument. I read it and thought "Wow, man... If you want the hate to stop, you need to stop hating too."

Well then, XBOX, how do you explain the fact that you are draining people's money? you, Microsoft, make your customers pay 59.99 every year to unlock the full potential of your console, and in my opinion that's evil...(particularly xbox LIVE's retarded pay2play crap, fuck u Microsoft cheapskates)...

Now, while your anger is justified on some level, going about it in a way that alienates one company's policies (Microsoft's), while being directly hostile to it as well, and not focusing on the problems of the PS3 and Sony (Open your eyes, man, they've had some issues too.) won't help people's view of your argument.

Lastly, you may not be a self-proclaimed PS3 fanboy, but in your argument, you repeatedly state the PS3's perceived advantages over the XBOX and defend Sony for the fiasco last year, whilst talking bad about the XBOX and Microsoft's policies. I'm not calling you a fanboy either, but your argument is written from the point of view of what most people consider a fanboy (i.e. attacking one company while loyally defending the other). I respect your loyalty to your chosen system, brother, but other people might not.

i'm sorry if i come off as a fanboy, i was pretty damn enraged when my XBOX LIVE membership expired, i was angry about it for a long time because i couldn't go online for a year, and then i finally got around to buying a 3-month membership which also has expired. i'm not trying to be a fanboy, i've just had a lot of anger building up that i just kinda blew up, i lost it for a while, y'know?

I believe it is because of PSN getting hacked. Lots of people were pretty pissed off that they got hacked and couldn't play online for a while. Oh and the fact the PS3 was $1000 on launch. That was WAY too expensive.

I believe they are both good consoles and it depends on your own opinion.

Australia, the PS3 was $1000 at launch while the XBOX 360 was $400.

It's equal dislike between the two. The PS3 is not against the world.

lol Wii players jump in it anyway they can with their "nintendo is the gaming only innovative company the rest copy us!" crap, it all boils down to how many fanboys on are that particular thread when the outbreaks start. PC, consoles, mac users will all jump into a fanboy war if it sways more into their favor over the others.

Nah, I'd say the PS3 gets any form of hate not because "Sony is a bunch of cunts," but because it's a Sony product and will pretty much explode if you spill something on it.

Well that and continuously fighting the losing battle against piracy that screws over no one BUT the people who do pay. Sorry, Sony, but I am not downloading another fucking patch every single time I want to browse around the god damn store.

If it's hated, it's probably because the haters secretly want a PS3 but are too poor to get one.

Heck, I can't afford a PS3 and I want one. Even though 90% of the games I want on it are also on the 360... I just happen to have a hatred of Microsoft. Not trying to be a fanboy, and I'm not saying one is better than the other, I just hate Microsoft.

My hatred of the PS3 comes from when it was hacked. Specifically, because it took Sony a WEEK to tell us that all of our personal information was gone. Adding in the fact that they had to give us COMPLETELY wrong timeline that couldn't possible be more off. Bear in mind, before the incident, I was a MASSIVE PS3 fanboy.

Well, fanboys will be fanboys obviously- so there's bound to be hate.

Either way, I don't hate the PS3, though I have a 360, I just prefer that the Xbox is cheaper (since I'm totally broke). I don't use online features so the paid/free online cost doesn't factor in.

Besides, while I like some of the exclusive titles for PS3, these days of multiplatform release makes the console wars mostly pointless- so it's not enough for me to justify the additional $100 it would have been when I was debating which to buy (which is two or more games worth of budget right there).
I do wish Microsoft would just bite the bullet and buy the rights to some of the PS3 exclusives, but not as much as I wish the fanboy bitching would stop.

Anyway, it just comes down to what personally fits you best.

Its just fanboys. Everyone hates them, and I use to have a ps3 and a 360. But I'm going to go 360 and nintendo from here on out. Its what I prefer, and ps3 has a ton of geat gams, like all the other consoles.

XBOX is better than PS3 because it gets all the dlc before PS3 does.

Xbox gets most of the dlc first because most games are orignally made for that system and are then ported to others.(Like CoD. We get the dlc a month later.)
