Why does everyone hate the PS3?

Dude, it´s the Internet. Worse, youtube. I also have a PS3, but most of my friends have Xbox´s, and we don´t argue even once if one is better than the other. They´re both good.

Also, "Microsoft is evil" isn´t exactly ground-breaking news.

The "console wars", as fanboys and people acting as fanboys for the irony factor call it, is just a trollercoster that some people use to bash others just because they can.

PS3 players bash the 360 on youtube and EVERYWHERE ELSE if you haven't noticed. Wii players stay out of it though >.>

It's equal dislike between the two. The PS3 is not against the world.

Wii users stay out of it cuz they don't have much to bring to the table. I only own a ps3 so I'm biased, I admit it. I haven't seen much ps3 hate though, so it is easily avoidable

Only 2 things I hate about the PS3 are the L2 and R2 buttons, they don't feel very comfortable, and some of the games I have played, RE5, COD and something else, the fire button has been moved to L1 and R1, why change it, the PS2 had L2 and R2 as its firing buttons so why change it?

My brother owns a PS3, though ONLY for MGS4, he hates it, but only because when you press the power button it takes a couple of seconds to turn off, and apparently when you switch it off incorrectly, you get the old nagging Windows 98 message of you not switching it off properly, and when he first played GTA4 on my 360 he was stunned about how quickly it switched off (immediatly). Then again my brother gets impatiant when a game has to load, seriously its mental, so I really don't know how valid these points are, but I thought I'd share.

But in short I'm a bit indiffrent to the PS3 and as far as Youtube PS3 hating goes, I hadn't noticed, I always thought there was more 360 bashing on there.

I never use my PS3 for the fickle reason, that its trigger buttons drive me mad! If they were not so squishy and thumb numbing, I would be more inclined to use the damn thing!

Uh, I feel like if you're using your thumbs to press the trigger buttons you're probably doing something wrong...

i'm sorry if i come off as a fanboy, i was pretty damn enraged when my XBOX LIVE membership expired, i was angry about it for a long time because i couldn't go online for a year, and then i finally got around to buying a 3-month membership which also has expired. i'm not trying to be a fanboy, i've just had a lot of anger building up that i just kinda blew up, i lost it for a while, y'know?

I hope you take this constructively, but you seem to care a lot about what other people think of you. You might find yourself more at peace if you were to tone this down a bit and the internet is probably as good a place to practise this as any. Also there is nothing wrong with being a fanboy. It's sounds like a derogitory term but when you wrap your head around what it means is it really so bad? I hapilly called myself a Halo fanboy this time last year (in anticipation for Reach).

Well then, XBOX, how do you explain the fact that you are draining people's money? you, microsoft, make your customers pay 59.99 every year to unlock the full potential of your console, and in my opinion that's evil.
I never understood this argument against xbox, or when I still used to play WoW.
I have this thing called a job. This job gets me money, which I use to buy things. The cost for a year of gold xbox live, is so minute compared to all the other things I buy, that it doesn't matter. Would I like it if it was free? Well no shit. But I expect the money I pay to go towards things that make my gaming experience more enjoyable. Things like customer support and protection against hackers who bring down the whole network *cough*

the PS3 and XBOX each have their own ups and downs, and the XBOX has some major errors (particularly xbox LIVE's retarded pay2play crap, fuck u microsoft cheapskates), but they can be fixed (if bill gates kills his addiction to money, like that's even possible) in time.

Finally a legitimate poi-... Wait, AGAIN with the money?
If you brought up RROD, hardware deficiencies, and technical faults, then I would agree the xbox has downs, but the fact xbox live costs money, is your only argument?
