Ok, i give thee challenges three:

1.the easy one, vivaldi's four seasons
2. medium difficulty, Mr.Sandman by Pat Ballard
3. hard, this is technically a metal cove of another metal song, but this is a harder version, anyways, find The death metal version of Aces high from Iron maiden that have a Bagpipe solo.
ok i know 2 because i also have them, as for aces high covers i have one death metal version but no bagpipes :S also No 1 could have included dark moor or alexi laiho :)

1. Yngwie Malmsteen
2. Blind Guardian

Well I don't know about that, but I do know that Metallica's cover of Ennio Morricone's Ecstasy of Gold is freakin' awesome!!
Especially after 2:18.

And even more so when done by a big band.

But I think most things sound better in Smooth Jazz form...
Agreed, the most startling example:
Yes, that is the tune of Sesame Street. Disturbing isn't it?

Correction, everything sounds better in 3rd Wave Ska!
But there are some songs, you just can't change. everything was in that way for a reason.
Objection your honour! 3rd wave ska is to 2nd wave what emo is to punk rock.

Then you'd probably love The Vitamin String Quartet. They do amazing covers of many, many artists from different genres, and even have some great original pieces. They covered the entire "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" album by Coheed and Cambria. It was amazing...

When compared to the original, that version is complete garbage, and I hate the original with a passion.

All these "metal" "singers" need to clear their throats and try actually singing. I prefer hearing cats in heat to the crap these "singers" spew these days.
Agreed, after listening to that it felt like a trap since that version was horrible.
Try these on for size.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJgWhW4AyT8 for teh lulz.
Now, see. That first one was actually good. To take the vocals from a pop song and fit them in with good ole' metal, and have it sound great, shows that you don't have to have 10 gallons of phlegm in your throat to be a metal singer.

And that second one was actually pretty funny.
Indeed, I agree. I listen to metal all the time - just not the screaming variant. If you like orchestra music and metal, try the trans-syberian orchestra.

I could think of loads of tracks that don't have Metal versions. I agree with Pararaptor.

I do not like Metal in the slighest, unfortunately.

Ok then, go find a metal version of Bohemian Rhapsody that's better than the original Queen version.

Also, metal is pretty "meh" to me as well as music goes.

i love Queen and recently got into power metal.

Its the song "the silence" from Gamma Ray, its just an 10-15 second intro, but me and a friend of mine on the site instantly recognized the melody. If you dont know what part i mean, then its the small part in the queens song right after "why wont anybody find me somebody to love-choir" intro.

Btw there are two versions of the Gamma ray song, one featuring Ralf Scheepers and another featuring Kai Hansen as the vocalist, they even re-record the instrumentals, so the different verions might sound more or less like the queen thing, i dont remember that right now.

EDIT : all of the credit for connecting the two songs goes to a friend of mine http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Tawm

he also found the rip-off between Dragonforce's evening star and Mister Crowley from Ozzy/ Sabbath, seriously, dragonforce rips the solo directly from them

its a fun game to play with music: "spot the rip-off"!

I think this is 100% correct, if done well any song can sound better with an orchestra.

Try and find a metal version of this
If you do, I can be sure it won't be better.

The wide array of metal covers of past well known songs is no different to the plague of punk covers of past popular songs, (I'm looking at you Me First and the Gimme Gimmes,) in that just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should.

There's not a single piece of Chopin that would ever sound better in a metal version and to suggest it would is sacrilegious.

All it is, is that your personal taste prefers metal where as some of us consider a lot of metal as unstructured white noise.
