...Shia LeBeouf is a teenage heartthrob?Suiseiseki IRL said:He keeps getting rolls because studio big wigs know that he is a teenage heartthrob and they can make some money off adolescent girls having him in a movie.
Because it gave us what we wanted, a robot beat-um-up that was action packed. Both Bay and LaBeouf gave us what we wanted. Hell id say he even went above our expectations with it. Sure it wasnt a fantastic work of epic proportions but it did what it set out to do.Vigilantis said:A question I often ask myself, along with "Why do people enjoy Bay's 'Transformers'?"
Also, I'm uncertain why, but he absolutely pisses me off, despite not having done anything to earn my hatred. Probably because his attitude and demeanor remind me of the douches I'm surrounded by at school every day. Oh well, he doesn't seem to be disappearing anytime soon...PhiMed said:As far as Shia... eh... he's one of many in a long list of befuddling "it boy" leading men.
In no particular order, here's a sample
Robert Pattinson
Leonardo DiCaprio
River Phoenix (that's right... I said it. One good movie and a premature death do not a good actor make)
Orlando Bloom
Ashton Kutcher
Steve Guttenburg
Jonathan Taylor Thomas
They're handsome in a generic, non-threatening way, and they're annoying enough to make guys think they really would run like a girl, but not annoying enough (at first) to make guys want to stay away.
I'd rather watch anyone over Nick Cage. None of Shia's popular movies (disturbia on) had a chance to be any good. He pretty much sucks, but he's still a- Fuck it he's a shitty actor.BlindMessiah94 said:I'd rather watch him than Nicholas Cage
Ahh sorry I guess I just don't get entertainment from a movie that blatantly trashed my beloved childhood franchise whilst adding in poor toilet humor and sexual references at every corner.Cpu46 said:Because it gave us what we wanted, a robot beat-um-up that was action packed. I always thought it was his dreamy eyes that get guys interested :\BrotherhoodOfSteel said:Because girls go crazy for him.

Is that a function of Leo, or Martin? I'm guessing Martin. The only movie where I thought he improved it in any way was What's Eating Gilbert Grape? And no, I'm not saying that just because he played a mentally challenged person. He actually did a good job.Mr.Tea said:I don't get the Shia LaBoeuf thing at all. How is he handsome? He looks like the most generic bowl of teenage bland that would be cast as a nerd in amercian high school flicks. Like Michael Cera.
DiCaprio is a much better actor than the other guys on that list, especially since Scorsese started casting him in each of his movies.PhiMed said:Leonardo DiCaprio
Ya but Marty didn't direct Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can, The Basketball Diaries or Revolutionary Road so I don't think you can attribute his acting credibility just based on his movies with Martin ScorseseePhiMed said:Is that a function of Leo, or Martin? Every other non-Scorsese movie (plus one Scorsese movie... see if you can guess which one) was poo, and his presence made it worse poo.
Besides, he inflicted one of the worst atrocities in modern film upon the masses: His amphetamine and ecstacy-tinged version of Romeo and Juliet.
Well, I haven't seen The Basketball Diaries or Revolutionary Road. Perhaps I should.clipse15 said:Ya but Marty didn't direct Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can, The Basketball Diaries or Revolutionary Road so I don't think you can attribute his acting credibility just based on his movies with Martin ScorseseePhiMed said:Is that a function of Leo, or Martin? Wow, they're really thinking of doing a film adaptation of Y: The Last Man? Do you know if they're going to try and do the entire story in one film or break it up? I don't know how I feel about LeBeouf playing Yorick until I see a trailer, but the fact that they're making this movie makes me very happy.BlindMessiah94 said:Shia is supposed to play Yorick in the Y the Last Man film adaptation, I think he'd be a great fit.
