Why does The Escapist hate kids?

I think a lot of it is because parents these days increasingly have less and less time to adequately devote to their kids. Many of them just give in to the brattiness and let them do whatever the hell they want. Others try and placate them with presents or money in lieu of quality time that they don't have to spare, which in turn just makes the kids more demanding, more bratty, and makes them feel more entitled.

I think we notice this more in the gaming realm than elsewhere because, well, games cost money, and the children of parents who buy their kids every game that comes out tend to be more obnoxious and bratty than other children.

Because you don't capitalize "The Escapist", and therefore are not mature enough to handle anything.

Right? RIGHT?

I don't really know. I'm going to go with stereotypes or something of that sort.

Because Kids are annoying... that would be a generic answer, but I feel that most people don't necessarily understand that age is no guarantee of maturity.

Admittedly, kids under the age of 13 seem to not understand. I leave that sentence vague because there are many MANY things that they seem not to understand. They sound like chipmunks on voice chat, they have no respect for others whilst playing online, etc.

The key to getting people to not hate you is, surprisingly, very simple. DON'T BE A JERK. That's not directed at any specific reader, more just a generic piece of advice I hope somebody takes to heart.

EDIT: Also, Rated M for mature means 17 and up here in America. I realize that its only 15 in other countries, and that makes me rage. The ages are 13 and 17. Make that an industry standard.
We don't have Mature ratings over here, just the ages. So why would you care if its different over here?
I just feel that an industry standard is relevant considering that there aren't country-dedicated servers for multiplayer. So, 15 years olds are playing what appears to be a 17+ game here in America. It gets confusing and actually causes problems. I think that we need to just decide on an age, be it 15 or 17, and have every country use that as the "mature" rating.

It is a bit off the topic though...

I stopped hating kids. A great teacher of mine once said "when you're young and stupid, you're young and stupid". Redundant, yes, but it makes sense. I'm not going to hate on a kid because he did something stupid... everyone does at that age. I sure did.

You can like MCR, there is no problem with it, but understand its a band aimed at a more young audience.

i only hate the kids that aren't mature enough to take responsibility for their actions and blame video games on their actions... which causes them to be banned and gives fuel for the protesters...

Countries and cultures aren't the same though, which makes that exceptionally difficult.

Take America's reaction to sex ("won't somebody think of the children?!") and compare it to that of Europe.

More young? I think i'm going to pass out if I see 6 year olds headbanging to Welcome to the Black Parade.

A big problem is lack of respect, kids today don't know their place is at the bottom of the pile. When i was a kid, only a few years ago, i knew my place and shut my mouth when told to, nowadays you tell a kid to shut up and they scream "child abuse" without the slightest thought as to what that actually means

I mean its aimed at a young audience comparably to a normal band.

Maybe between the ages 10-15 would be a rough estimate.

Kids (in my experience of 17 cousins/siblings between the ages of 4 and 13) are a bunch of self righteous, ungrateful, balls of disease that never just shut up. Beyond that, far too many of them have been allowed to touch technology far beyond their comprehension. Especially when a game is rated far beyond their age, when it is rated M it means you little shits should not be allowed to play it.

I don't enjoy playing online games with kid's in matches because they generally whine and complain when you give them a whooping, unlike most gamers who will concede that they have been beaten fair and square. Get the drop on a kid with a sneaky knife kill after finding your way behind them on Black ops or Battlefield and they will scream and shout, call you a camper and rain down fire and brimstone from the speakers of your television.

I generally just find the kid after that and kill him a lot. Seems to shut them up when they realise they are actually not as good at it as they think they are.

EDIT: I am 19 by the way, I have had a mic for my PS3 and Xbox since I bought both systems and not once have I used it to shout at someone in a serious way, yeah I have trash talked and took the mick, but not once have I shouted at someone for killing me, I've shouted in frustration, but it has always been followed with: the god, that was good, I was about to kill someone then, lucky bugger got away.

I don't blame the kids, per se, as I blame the parenting these kids never seem to receive. Hypothetically, if I had my way, I'd find out where these bratty kids live and beat their parents severely while they watched in horror. Then, I'd tell the kid if they EVER behaved in a manner with which they cause another person aggravation or strife verbally over a video game, they will receive the same beating I just gave their parents.

Oh and, not to hijack this thread any, video games don't cause violence, OK? It never has and it never will. In fact, video games don't cause anything. People that are immature, insensitive, selfish, self-righteous, narrow, unenlightened, spiteful, bigoted, holier-than-thou, cockmongoling assholes that lack the basics of compassion, intelligence, willpower and common sense cause violence. And a whole lot of other maladies that plague the world. People have the ability to create their own heavens as well as their own hells. This can be measured by a person's worth, and that measurement is determined by the sum of that person's dreams, beliefs and actions.

(Captcha: witcip and. Annnnnnd.....what?)

This applies to both MCR and kids (just my opinion before some raging fanboy tells me about the musical innovation in "Welcome to the Black Parade").
