Why Does The Witch Cry?

What possible reasons could the Witch from L4D cry for? It's never really been specified, but what do my fellow Escapists think?

I say it's because she lures survivors in with heart-breaking sobs and then eats their face off when they come to comfort her.

But in a more actual response, I would say it's because witches are infected that have retained some of their human thought and emotion, thus why she cries and then is horrified with herself when she kills a survivor.
