Cause all stylists in the world are dead and no one can fix her nails or her hair?
Dough...

Because of the incredibly disturbing way a Witch is created. Basically, my friend likes to theorise that she's a zombie rape victim. She now scares the crap out of me.

Yeah, I'ma go with the direct route, and Valve did it cos it's a horror game, and weeping of any sort is probably one of the top five creepiest things EVER.

Because her mind is partially intact and not fully affected by the Infection. She's definitely infected, as she'll scream at and try to kill anyone that disturbs her, but she's human enough to cry constantly over the fact that she's a monster, and she screams and runs away after killing a survivor because she realizes that she's completed the vicious cycle once again.

She's upset because Zoey won't date her.

Too crude? Okay, here's a better one. She weeps because she didn't get a part in the play The Crucible because she fit the bill too much to play Abigail. And if anyone knows what I'm talking about then congratulations, you obviously have excellent taste in theatre :D
Indeed, lucky for Goodie Proctor perhaps...
Are you kidding me? Lucky for JOHN.

Giles is my hero :<

Or.... you were forced to study it in GCSE English.

Because I beat her to it. She didn't wash mah clothes!

Sexism aside, I think it's because she's the most powerful zombie in the game and thus other zombies shun her. But one day, she will truly shine, and kill survivors left and right without needing them to startle her.

You had to study it? Unlucky ;)

I didn't have to, but I auditioned for a joint production with our sister school back in Sixth Form (my school was all boys with girls in the sixth form, the other school was all girls with boys in the sixth form). Ended up playing Francis Nurse, the farmer, and it was a pretty good production given we were pretty crap in rehearsals. Somehow we managed to pull it together, although twice out of three nights in Act 2, 'John Proctor' was literally pushed into me on a chair despite me playing an old man... Still, I enjoyed being in the play, and the play itself :D

Hah, I think John wouldn't mind the Witch too much. Just depends on whether it's her "alone crying in the corner" time of the month ;)

Just kidding... Anyway, when we performed that play a couple of years ago Giles was pretty amazing, but I think the girl playing Abigail stole the show simply because of the scream near the end of Act 3 ;)

EDIT: Double post, dammit. Sorry about that...

OK, all funny reasons aside, I believe I heard this somewhere, and it makes sense:

Most humans, when hearing someone cry, have the emotional response of "pity" and sometimes also feel as sad, making them more vulnerable. Some humans would even seek whoever is crying out in order to help them, only to have their guts paint the nearby wall. So, basically:

The virus probably remembered some of those human-empathy instincts, and decided to take advantage of the people that don't hear crying and think "of fuck, something must be evil around here", which towards the beggining of the apocalypse in question, would probably have been quite a few people.
