Why Does the World Think so Poorly of Teenagers?

When I say poorly I don't mean that the world thinks that every kid in the world is going to vandalize their houses and steal, but people seem to think that kids are retarded. An example of this is the Disney channel, it's aimed towards kids my age (mostly girls, but still) and the shows on that channel are so unfunny and stupid it insults my inteligence to even see a photo of miley cyrus. So why is it she's so popular? Are girls my age really that stupid? are these stupid girls going to awesome in college? Another example of this relentless bombardment of idiocracy, is Fred from youtube. None of his jokes are funny and he has never made me compelled to watch anything he puts up. So why is he so popular? Is his popularity an indication of the inteligence of my generation? Lastly, why does the world group all kids my age into this group?

Second, it's a common stereotype. Stupid, I know, but the world judges and there's not much we can do about it. I despise the fact that most of the other girls in my class are all hung up on High School Musical and Twilight etc.

I think its because teenagers view the rest of the world poorly, aren't afraid to show it and so the vicious circle (of life) is perpetuated for another few years. I must say that my view of the world has not really drastically improved since i moved into the realm of 20.

Teenagers tend to have very strong opinions on many things but a weak understanding or justification for those opinions. Time does not cure this but the need to actually accomplish the basic necessities of life or even take care of others tends to temper things.

Its a similar reason as to why many people still think muslim = terrorist.

Because a small percentage of them act badly, and bad news makes for easy press coverage, and people still sadly do believe a lot of what they read in the papers and see on TV.

While I don't dislike teenagers, I do have zero respect for chavs however, as I don't recall ever meeting one that showed any respect to people around him or even the space around him.

Most teenagers however are fine, just living their lives and not causing trouble.

My argument against chavs, is, if you don't wish to be associated with troublemaking rude, violent thugs, why are you dressing in their uniform?

Of course this comes from limited personal experience, negative experiences that is, and a neutral positive experience of teenagers who don't feel the need to wear half the Argos jewellery counter and a baseball cap.

Thanks you from nj too? also I saw a scene from twilight and it was horrible, it looked like a film done by college kids for a project. The special effects were horrible and who knows how many more sequals will be amde till the highschool musical series finally crawls into a corner and dies.

I have to agree that a lot of shows geared for teenagers have at least one character that is dumb as a post. It actually insults my intelligence because those kids of people just don't think. Acting on impulse it seems like. I don't find that funny at all. It leaves a bad mark (at least this is how I see it) on the teenager. As one I've been thought of a stupid as these people they see on tv. I've had adults think I don't know anything and are so surprised and taken back when I say something intelligent.

I am gonna ask how old are you? You're profile says you're MY age in fact, two days older than me. I know that MY age group isn't categorized like this anymore. We used to be but we got older.

As you get older you don't worry about things as much.
