Why doesn't TF2 have a female character/ if you could make a female char, what would she be like?

this is a simple theory, nothing more. if it offends you, i am deeply sorry.

The reason all the characters are male is because a MAJORITY of TF2 players are male. this falls into the gender-leaping psychological aspects. males tend to feel better playing as males.

on the "pyro is a woman" side note, if you look at the rest of the locker, not everything matches. you can see character equipment above a different characters equipment. it could be the scout's mom's purse the scout put there.

I'd ike to see a female class that can pin other's down with nets... then have some sort of close range, very powerful, weapon to finish their enemy off, I guess a smoke screen would be good, to hide their position. So a crossbow that fires a net hold down enemys (enemy's class dictates how long they're pinned for, so scout 10 secs, heavy 5 ses or something) or a tranq gun... that could be an unlockable, what would make a good close range finisher weapon?

skinning knife= 5x damage on pinned foes(?)

Tazzer= hold to pinned foe for 2 seconds to finish them(?)

axe= head hit to pinned enemy for instant finish(?)

Dog= pull it out of your hand bag and send little "Mr Fluffy" up a heavys arse(?)

EDIT: She should have a Russian, German or Polush accent. =]

They do, the Pyro is female, because she is the Scout's mother. This was revealed in the Sniper vs. Spy update, a few months after your original post. Very few people are aware of this, however, nobody knows it for sure. You can message me if you want an explanation.

By the way, I know I am WAAAY late in posting on this thread since it hasn't been active for months, but I like searching through the archives.

Well, there are rumors that the Pyro is female, of course they are internet rumors and about as trustworthy as a Tabloid newspaper.

You sir just won (I thought you were gay? Meh, since people keep changing their avatars I keep getting people mixed up, oh well)

An interesting idea, but if they want to keep it a little more family friendly then maybe something like the spy, as huge hulking women will probably scare the target audience, and there's not too much room for other characters as they seem to have run out of different possible classes.
Er... family friendly? This from a game that has plenty of cartoonish blood and dismemberment?

I don't have a problem with it, but I think you'd be hard pressed to convince a lot of parents that this game is "fun for all the family"... especially if they end up playing with that weird TF2 fetish group that I ended up playing with once... (shudders)

I think watching an enemy explode into a thousand tiny, blood-soaked bits would be a lot less fun if said enemy had breasts (before the explosion).
Killing guys and pyros is just easier for me.

TF2... fetish group? How does that- never mind, I don't want to know. I'm just gonna go cry in a corner for a few hours...

Or play TF2.

Well, first of all, you're welcome for accidentally bumping this thread.

Anyway, to start, I'm sure you know by now that the Pyro is allegedly a female, according to hype surrounding a purse that appears in the Pyro's locker in the resupply room. That was the only evidence that we had, in game, of the Pyro's gender. Well, after the Sniper vs. Spy update, Valve released the Meet the Spy machinima. If you look at the pictures of the Scout's mother that the Blu Spy shows, the same purse appears in the photo.

Now, that could just be Valve's way of messing with their fans, since it wouldn't be the first time. There were also a lot of rumors concerning 'the tenth class' that ended up being fake, so who knows?

I would be a really hot Chick that would have an SMG as a primary, Desert eagle pistol as a secondary, hand as a melee (SMACK), and a purse that would be similar to the Engeniers tool box, she could set up a smoke cloud of perfume, change into less clothing that would make her the only visible enemy within a short range, and call kids to use as distraction

First of all: Why? The devs time could be better spent on other, more worthwhile things, then seeing a pair of breasts running around dustbowl.

Second: It doesn't fit with the timeline. TF2 is set in the 1960's. I doubt women had very many military-mercenary jobs back then.

Third: The enormous imbalance: Deny as much as you want; on a whole women tend to be smaller than men. Because of this, their character designs would usually be smaller. This would cause a MASSIVE imbalance of hitboxes, making playing the guys worthless because you'd be so much easier to hit.

That enough?
