Why Doesn't the Escapist Have an Anime Guy?

There's not really that big an audience probably. Anime fans tend to fall into the category of that guy with tiny statues of anime girls (me<,) and those people who haven't really watched anything past the 90's or early 00's because they only see cute girls doing cute things (i.g. "Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shells are the only animes worth watching" crowd.)

Most of the anime to review would probably not be of interest to the latter group.

Can I suggest that those two groups are far from large, and you completely misunderstand the reasons people like Cowboy Bebop and (I suppose) Ghost in the Shell?

OT: I don't really know, seems as fair game as some of the other less-viewed content on here, but we seem to have a pretty solid anime-watching portion of the userbase to discuss anime with so there's that.

What about a broader idea, like a Japanese Culture Corner?

And instead of reviews have it opening up can-of-worms discussions ala Ideas Channel.

Surely that would get the community buzzing.

Because this is not a Japanese site. You'd be surprised at how the anime culture is small in the "rest of the world"

Says the guy who has an account on a niche gaming site. I see no reason why couldn't add a niche medium to an already niche website.

I remember that there used to be an anime review section, but by 2010 I don't think it was updated anymore. I assume that it wasn't popular enough.

Oh, I thought this topic was on about a mascot, not a reviewer. I'm mildly disappointed now.

I thought that too. I mean, all the major browsers have got anime mascots, and then there's Wikipedia's, Uncyclopaedia's and TV Tropes' too. Why can't we have a moe personification? Hell, I'd by the merchandise if they did.
