Why hasn't the consoles jumped on the keyboard/mouse bandwagon yet.

Well what ever the case is....what's funny is I'm seeing so much hostility in responses to seeing this happen.

Why would anyone argue against an accessory?

I wonder...0o
Sorry for the double post (if it is one)

Well, it's mainly because there's no real need; console players use controllers and pc players use M/K, and there's no real need or innovation to come from mixing the two.

I once played Halo 3 on a friends 360 that was modded to use the keyboard/mouse.

I won every game.

Don't get me wrong, I understand perfectly well that people prefer mice over controllers (and vice versa), but they always put it as fact, like there. It's just that all of the other genres almost exclusively work better on one or the other.
QFT. I know every people who say K/M are better dont state it as an opinion but as if its a fact.
Thank you, although to be fair most console gamers aren't much better, it's just the escapist is mainly pc players (I said mainly).
Yeah, and the way I'm seeing it PC gamers are afraid that they might lose another one of the distinct features that make PC gaming what it is.

Console gamers either don't care, or are afraid that the FPS argument might become practically true which would lead up to them losing to K/M players incessantly forcing them to switch....loosing their controller preference....=/

Because then they'd be computers.

I'm glad they haven't. I hate using keyboards as a controller.

I'm guessing most "mainstream" console gamers don't even know that there's a debate about M/K, and you're right, I don't really care because they're just different ways of controlling it, and I'm cool with either.

It's easy:

Console players are stupid-ass b00ns who cannot work with so many buttons at once because that would make their brains melt while PC gamers are fucking self-absorbed elitists refusing to play anything that doesn't feature at least 40 different mods and 120 different ways to walk.

To be more serious, the term 'console gaming' always had this 'pick-up-and-play'-touch to it, which would be destroyed by having two controllers with ten times as many buttons as you need. Believe it or not folks, M/K were originally intended to work with. :D

Because not all of us want to have keyboards and mice shoved down our throats while we play games.

For me it deals with where I play. When I use my PS3 I am generally sitting on my bed. This leaves no room for a keyboard and mouse setup. On the other hand when I use my gaming PC I am at a desk which allows it to work.

If you want a controller, buy a console. If you want to feel like you're using a PC, buy a PC. I for one will never give up the comfort of laying on a couch or a chair or simply being comfortable just so I can have an advantage over people in an online shooter or RTS.

Because people who love consoles love the controller and cry if they had to use a keyboard and mouse, even though the controls are much better for ANY game out there except maybe like they mario games, racing games and sports.

Aiming is way easier with a mouse.
Hotkeys and movement is way easier with a keyboard.
(So, they are better for RPG, FPS, and RTS (which is pretty much any game out there ignoring the 3 listed earlier)

But that is my opinion, and everyone is welcome for their own. I understand why people like controllers and I can live with their decision, does not hurt my feelings.

Why has nobody pointed out the business logic behind avoiding K/M for consoles? Lost market revenue for controllers and licensed hardware. K/M are universal.

They could outfit consoles with special ports for company designed outfits.

I, too, was wondering why no-one had bothered to bring up the angle of business. They would simply, without a doubt, create company material.

I don't see this making much sense, though, as it would almost certainly cost that more money as it's a losing venture to attempt to incorporate K/M elements due to the low chance of attracting mainly PC gamers.

It would be nice, yes, but I'm not holding my breath.
