They're Australian, not from the UK, and we've been laughing at everyone who doesn't have them for many, many years.

A. How dare you credit those dirty Brits with our brilliant all-Australian invention. As if those culinary clowns could come up with something that delicious.

B. We kinda assumed you already had chocolate cream biscuits of some kind.

There are a lot of things the US doesn't have, or tries to steal but just does worse. Presumably it's some form of food patriotism or something (though you'd really think they would rename "French Fries" and "Belgian Waffles" to "Freedom Fries" and "Liberty Waffles" already).

I'm never heard of a TimTam, so I'm just going to substitute the word with Batternburg Cake. Why yes, Batternburg cake is delicious, glad you've discovered it. Next try Eccles cake.

Also: We have to stop the U.S. getting hold of, and ruining, EVERYTHING. Some things must be kept pure and sacred.

Never heard of 'em, but a quick Google search would seem to suggest that they are some kind of posh Penguin. In that case you can keep 'em, Penguins are horrible.

They renamed them Freedom Fries years ago, when the French weren't as keen on war in the Middle East. The name didn't really stick, though.

Well have been a few attempts at it, but the general consensus was a giant "why", "that's stupidly petty", and "whose dumb idea was this?"

Everything makes sense

It happened during Bush's term, which was more than 7 years ago, so I guess.

Because we saw what you did to chocolate, and decided you weren't ready to move on to more advanced concepts just yet.

As an Aussie living in the UK I wish we had Tim Tams. The closest we have is Penguins, and they're terrible. They always taste like they're a few weeks worth of stale. I have to order my Tim tams in from a website.

'Liberty waffles' should be what we call all the president's speeches from now on.
