I really don't understand people like you. It's one thing to not like a game, but it's another to effin' obsess over it. No one has put a gun to your head and told you to play it. I don't like a game, I don't even talk about it, let alone ***** about it. I move on, and play and obsess about games I actually like. Don't ***** and moan about it like it friggin' ruined your life.

A community that cannot fix these issues have three kinds of member; those who delight in using these exploits (Commando-Marathon-Lightweight-TacKnife), those who use those tactics just to keep up with the first group, and the rest who refuse to out of some kind of misplaced elitism..
Sorry, explain how that's an exploit again? I honestly don't see why people have a problem with it.
My bad, I definately misused 'exploit' there. I meant something more along the lines of 'design fuck ups that result in terribly overpowered combinations of abilities'. You must not lag; for all of us stuck over here in Aus (most certainly in regional areas), there is very little we can do to combat this. Don't tell me that you can sidestep commando-teleports - it's not possible unless your reaction time is a good three quarters of a second faster than the knifer (accounting for both lag, and the time required to strafe/backup a safe distance), which in alot of circumstances requires precognition. Lag is frustrating enough when you have to rely on far-superior skills, or luck to beat someone in a fair fight, but when items/abilities take even that possibility away, it's infuriating. Now, in your lag-free universe, you see a guy at a range just out of commando range, you backup and fire and kill him most of the time. However, in my world (the one with lag), I see a guy just out of commando range [he's actually just in commando range, thanks lag], I backup and go for the headshot and hit fractionally before I die and the killcam shows I never shot; in fact, I never aimed at him, every single time. I know this is a product of lag, because I do get lowlag games occasionally in which that combo isn't a problem, but when you make a game like this, you gotta know that heaps of players are going to suffer lag. Also, I think if less people lagged, there would be fewer people running that combo - because it'd be far less successful.

An exploit would be quickscoping or 1MA unlimited tubes. The simple fact is that there are so many balance issues and exploits in MW2 and activision is only interested in putting out expensive map packs rather than trying to make the game play better.

Really? These are the problems you bring up? The melee system and the maps?
What the hell?
Alright, that's your personal opinion and all, but not only is your post pretty light on actual sense, it's insulting to people who like the game.
So, you think that the fanbase is elitist yet you despise the game and think that MW2 fans are assholes. Well, you sir, are a hypocrite. And you make no sense.

Your complaints about the melee system seem to say that the game isn't (GASP) realistic enough.
However, say it was realistic, you wouldn't even be carrying the LMG in the first place: the L connotes it as LARGE and therefore something to be mounted on a truck or tripod. along with that, it would be shockingly easy to die, firing the snipers would take 2 minutes of setup to avoid snapping one's collar bone, and wounds would not heal with the application of minute amounts of TIME.

So, while there are many overpowered game mechanics, what effect is one person ranting about the least of them on a thread going to have other than annoying half the people that bother to click on it?

I despise it because I am SOOO bad at it. Words cannot describe how much I fail at that game. I have a kill death ratio of 0.01. The game of course is on a buddy's xbox, In tf2 on the computer, I am usually top 3 in the server in a few games.

I wouldn't join this bandwagon if I were you; the wheels have fallen off.

Most complaints stem from the players, and I don't rate the maps one as a legitimate complaint (they're not bad. Seriously, forgive me if I'm wrong, but this is earth. It would look ridiculous if everything was bright. Are you 5 or something?).

You know, the only reason people like you (yes, you) hate on this so much is because it's popular. If it was some obscure little thing you'd be all "Guys, check out this game! It's totally the best game ever and I'm so alternative, commoners." Accusing it's fanbase of being elitist is the most hypocritical thing I've heard in a while, well done.

We get it, it's flawed. Show me a perfect game and I'll show you my ass.
See when I see logic like this I'm very much reminded what I truly hate in alot of "Fans" and players of most games, and thats the idiots who let that shit go. Ignoring the fact that you ignorantly generalized him into a group using only his distaste for a certain games flaws that thousands already agree with as, your last statement is the reason why companies like Infinity Ward, Capcom, and Namco get off with the shit they do.

You are so head strong with the idea, that if I can't bring you perfection, then don't complain about a good games faults, but thats the retarded logic that goes against the entire mindset of improvement. No Game will EVER be perfect the Ideal is IMPOSSIBLE, that should be understood. However, as humans we strive for the ideal to better ourselves, and thus pointing out faults and improving upon them gets us closer to the finite "Right" we continually strive for. The same is apparent in games. Point out flaws and make them heard so developers can get off there ass and fix the shit! I could understand complaining about him pointing out MW2's faults if they were getting fixed, but Infinity Ward changes damn near nothing, and instead get gradually worse, and you know why? BECAUSE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. People like YOU probably just take whatever they give you and assume thats the best it gets and not to desire more, but your the reason games stagnate. If you're willing to buy half ass merchandise for the same price as top of the line, WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY GO THROUGH THE EFFORT?

Christ, Sure this topic could have been argued in alot more detail and I'm sure a large chunk exist on the Escapist alone, but it does remind me to point out that fans are the reason problems don't get solved. They cling to games and developers and take w.e bull shit there given just for the thrill, and that's the reason why a large chunk of MW2's flaws still exist. You want to know the biggest problem with the game? That's it.

Personally I think they set a really high bar with the relese of COD4 and with MW2, alot of people expected something new and revolutionary. To me, MW2 was not a dissapointment. It kept me entertained for a really long time.

Though it has a few areas in the game which are annoying, it is overall to me, a solid game. It was in no way a dissapointment and these arguments on why people despise MW2 and how BFBC2 or whatever is way better and all that should just stop. I like fps overall and yes I do play Bad Company 2 and enjoy it.

I think the little shits that inhabit X-box live are a bigger problem than these "game faults".

I love the game, but I completely agree with the melee point. In reality, the person will shoot with their gun in close combat or whack the enemy with the butt of their rifle, none of this knife business...

too many maps designed in a way that a team can camp in one section and never have to move.

also a good team can spawn camp you and still kill you with painkiller while using noob tubes

also players using double 1887s and noob tube...

and now i go back to being punished for playing this game but it is very addictive

I really stopped caring about Call of Duty after the 2nd part.
I still glorify the first part with its addon.
One of the best multiplayer shooter experiences ever.

You may have missed the point a little by miles. No, I'm not saying the game is flawless or that the flaws are to be overlooked, but if you read the title, you might notice he says "Despise". He despises the game over it's faults, rather than say, mildly disliking it or just being 'meh' over it. Despise is a strong word. I garuntee that if it weren't so popular he wouldn't "despise" it, and wouldn't have bothered to make the thread.

Well actually LMG stands for LIGHT Machine Gun and they are designed to be carried by a single soldier and used as an infantry support weapon. It is quite possible to fire them from the hip or on the move but this obviously would be a lot less accurate than using a bipod.

Again more MW2 hate, if those are your best reasons for despising this game you sir have missed the boat. You could hate the unfair weapons, unbalanced kill streaks, the abundance of camping, the lack of "party" chat in most game types, the horrible mindless zombies who believe there person value is derived from there kill/death ratio and who scream into there headsets like retarded monkeys. That is good solid hate, the kind you can rest your nuts on.
