What the OP is suffering from is an IRRATIONAL fear. You will not become sick from bathing in the ocean or in a lake, therefore there is nothing to fear, but even so, let me try to soothe you.

Lakes and oceans have natural "filtration" systems. For example, all the fish feces and other such things are eventually eaten by bacteria or sinks to the bottom of the ocean, where it is covered by yet more sediment and eventually ends up sliding under a tectonical plate, where it eventually turns into rocks and minerals.

Of course, not all oceans have such a place where two tectonical plates collide, but the fish feces and fish blood, and so on, either sinks to the bottom or is eaten by bacteria. The point is that particles of ANYTHING organic cannot "accumulate" for millions of years. Organic matter has the small side-effect of ROTTING.

Therefore you would not be "swimming with millions of years of fish feces, fish blood and decomposed flesh" if you decided to take a dip in the ocean.

I hate the ocean because I ended up getting hit with a wave and swallowed a bunch of sea water, the worst thing I ever tasted. But still, I find it enjoyable to watch the sunset over it, turning it from blue to orange, it's quite romantic. Despite all the particles and bacteria and deadly serpents and creatures in it. Now whenever I go to the beach I just collect seashells.

That's great and all, but not everyone owns their own pool.

Your body is made of bits of exploded star. Why do you care about what other supernovae remnants are in the sea?

Your point? Thousand of people fish, swimn and dive in the water and it nothing necessary bad had happen to them unless if was death by drowning or attack by shark or jellyfish etc. Even then death by the water is just the same as any other death by accident like going on rock climbing or fall onto the hard ground head first.
Also some community revolve around fishing if being fussy with a little of water would be bad if you were in such fishing community.

I think if you take dilution into consideration its about the same as a swimming pool.
