Why I'm impossible to sell new consoles to.

My gaming style is likened to that of a crotchety old man, still listening to LP's and driving the Oldsmobile he bought in the late 70's - it's really difficult to get me interested in new ideas in gaming.

Mainly, it's difficult to get me excited about new games. I have no 2013 titles except Poker Night 2, and before that was Far Cry 3 which I only bought three weeks ago and only because it was 60% off, and before that, Skyrim. I've bought three games in as many years.

I play World of Warcraft too, and the time between content patches doesn't bother me, especially since the last patch I actually cared about was 3.3, and the only reason I'm looking forward to the next expac is so I'll be high enough level to solo Wrath raids.

I'm not one of those gamers who feels the need for new titles, new experiences. I'm quite happy having fun with my older titles. Worms World Party keeps me entertained way longer than Company of Heroes 2 beta; CoD 2 and World at War are way more fun than their modern counterparts.
I'm the guy still playing Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead while games like Borderlands and Rage barely got a second look from me.
There are some titles I do get excited about. Literally the only 2013 release I'm interested in is GTAV, but until there's a PC release I needn't look any further.

Exclusive titles for the new consoles utterly disinterest me, because the best console series ever made - Crash Bandicoot - has been discontinued. If a new Crash game landed for the PS4 I'd be all over that, although I'm probably going to end up getting a PS4 purely out of spite for Microsoft anyway.

In my house I have a PS2 with a PS1 memory card used for Crash games, and an original Xbox which I use solely for Crimson Skies and Soul Calibur 2, and previously GTA:SA before I found a PC version. I skipped the 360 and PS3, and my Wii - I occasionally use it when it's raining and I feel like being active.

So after seeing the new consoles and again having no interest in either of the three options, I wanted to see if there's anyone else who shares my way of thinking, in that I don't share the apparently common ideal of wanting more and more fresh content, updated engines, better graphics and longer games, because I already have an eternity of entertainment right at my fingertips.

Alright? I guess you're fine saying no? Is there a point to this thread other than 'I'm unpleasable and I love it!'?

I'm with you, but I have no idea what the discussion value is here. And I want to be part of the discussion. :-S

Unfortunately, I have already played all those games. I rarely play something twice with (some exceptions). I am always looking for something new-which forces me to buy new games. I also fall for hype sometimes, and I like to arrive at my own conclusions for games, so I take reviews with a grain of salt.

So, OT: NO I do not feel the same as you. I want to play the latest and greatest.
