Why is America so awesome?

Well, most people will say "Its the land of oppurtunity" which techically it is, but I think its simply since we're "unique" whether its for better or worse. I'm leaning for better!

Jaythulu: Been to Australia (Perth/Hobart). I also survived the 1980's, both were very similar. OK, just kidding, loved the place, had an awesome time, but I did feel like I stepped back in time a decade or two...oh, and I love your women. There is a lot to be said for Australia on their women alone...

Anyway, if the U.S. sucks so bad, why the hell do we have such a shitty immigrant problem? Anybody else have this problem? You can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting someone on a work visa.
