He's still on the air becuase he provides several valid points, is entertaining (well, until he gets a little too into his "the world will end tomorrow!!!" stuff), and people like to listen to him.

I'm not a huge fan by any means (more of a Medved/Limbaugh guy), but he has a right to say what he wants. And, frankly, in this time when 95% of the news/media is biased towards the liberal side, it seems pathetic to whine about one of the republicans out there.

Really... McCain's team tried to cancel the vice-presidential debate for a reason.

She struggles hard, doesn't portray any sense of confidence in her answers, and repeats talking points when they have little or nothing to do with the question. Watch all of her interviews and see how often she repeats herself on unrelated questions.

She has no interest in serving her country she left a position where she could make an impact in order to do book tours / speaking tours / a reality show that's where the money is. nd then calls out Obama as a celebrity president (Not that I'm a fan of Obama)

Please looks at what she has done, looks at her endorsements of people like Miller (who doesn't understand States rights and allow being against frivolous lawsuits decides to spend a ton of government money in a case he can't possibly win). Don't bring her up if you want people to take you seriously.

NPR is a fairly stupid and irrelevant group/station. They have put out bans on all employees from attending any political rallies (recently the sanity rally for being seen as too "liberal") and ending up making the bad decision for firing him over speaking his mind (which was viewed by some to be racist and by a small group to be conservative.) I don't agree with it but it's consistent with their policy and not a decision that is either liberal or conservative. If you really want to view it as partisan ignorance all the power to you but check out the other side of what they've done.

Anyone else find it funny that Palin's daughter is wide open for criticism, but when anyone said one thing about the Clinton's kids, we heard "It's not fair to talk about them. They're not the politicians?"

Bush daughter's never got that kind of criticism either. Problem is when you go out and say things like abstinence-only works and we shouldn't teach kids how to have safe sex, despite the fact it didn't even work in your own family that is up for criticism.

If your adult daughter starts making political ads then yes we can bring her into the discussion.

If you hold up your family in front of everyone as prove of your philosophy then say we can't challenge them it's a cowardly one-sided argument. It's disappointing that kids got brought into it; but who's the one one stage with their kids screaming family values as one of their key points.

And don't get me fucking started on people like Michael Moore, Oliver Stone, or Al Gore...

I didn't bring them up I've never said I've agreed with them on anything; nor did I bring up anything Savage or Ann Coultre spews or other conservative commentators. You brought up Rush.

How can this lunatic still be on Fox? I would assume that even they have limits. He is going after every person like a rabid animal. Not to mention that he must be mentally handicapped (although that might insult the mentally handicapped). He insults Jews, Liberals, anybody that is rich, and claims that he is a prophet. He held a rally on the same day as the "I Have a Dream", speech and says that it was just as important as the famous civil rights activist himself. He thinks that the rally brought the next George Washington to the world.

I don't hate or despise Fox, just that insane man. Fox itself doesn't bother me very much.

^this i like glen beck he makes me laugh and he makes people that do not like what he says heads explode that makes me laugh more. guy is a commentator not a news guy, he has a commentary show, and many things he says rather tongue and cheek or all out satire, mean i never heard him bash gay or jews or whatever granted i not watched his show in a long time, but it just does not sound like something he would say period, lest not seriously.

You know what your seeing is something atrocious and sad but you are compelled to look regardless, be it out of facination, curiosity or genuine interest.

Ill also cut to quick on the solution. Its not his fault. He is nothing more than a product of our current environment. You move people away from their current state into a state of logic, intellect, and empirical research then a person like this cannot exist.

Sure hes leading people by the nose and planting ideas into peoples heads, but hes not forcing anyone to adopt his ideologies, these people WANT to be lead and fed what to think and how to act. If it wasnt him, it would be someone else like so many other similar examples we have been given through history.

So.... change elements of human nature, and the problem will be solved.

Somehow Beck keeps people watching. How he does it, I don't know, but I turned the TV off after 10 seconds of him and never listened to him again. By now I have heard more of him through clips on the Daily Show and Colbert Report than his show. Don't know what the says but nothing much in Beck's favor.

At the very least he makes great satirical comedy for Jon Stewart to play off of. The episode from the other night was priceless.

Juan Williams opined honestly on fear of flying in a post 9/11 age. He was fired by NPR over the phone and then slandered publicly by his former employers. However, his plight has put him in good standing with the public and given him national recognition. His career is likely to take off at this point. He's an upstanding journalist who debates intelligently rather than with rhetoric and spin.

Exactly. Although I'm not a huge fan; best of luck to him to show NPR how wrong they were for losing him.

First of all, Bristol Palin is entitled to her opinion, and she has a constitutional right to speak it publicly. You are entitled to disagree with her if you're an American, and for the most part, we let foreign guests speak freely as well. Obviously, she has perfectly legitimate reasons for doing this, whether or not you agree. Additionally, the ads she has been in are public service announcements and not political ads.

Politically, families of candidates or political figures are supposed to be off-limits to mudslinging. It's not a law, it's more of an unwritten rule of ettiqute which has gone the way of the dodo in this era of dirty politics. To say that Sarah Palin is the first politician to include her family on stage at a rally or during photo ops is absolutely laughable and wildly inaccurate.

Never said B.Palin wasn't; I just don't see why she is "off-limits" once she does. Makes for a one-sided conversation once you do that.

Yes they are PSA's but they are also an extension of S.Palin's political position. Though I'm glad there was compromise to allow the ad to speak to kids of all walks (as painful to watch as it was).

Mud-slinging yes; but you also need substance to your platform you can't bring you family to the front and centre. I'm not claiming others don't show off their beautiful families; but that they don't drag them into issues when they have a lack of substance and that they aren't hypocritical in condemning other families for getting into the same "situations" they face.
