Why is jewelry considered valuable?

Because it has other, better uses than to be put in jewlery (ie comp cords, drills ect) so we are paying them to not use it like that, we are paying for manpower need to find, dig up and craft the materials and it is in high demand which puts up price.

Well gold is a good conductor, so they use it in computer chips and the like. Also have you ever noticed that when ever North Korea or someone tests some new Missile system the price of gold gos up? This is because if a war breaks out and for example America gets decimated, the US dollar will be useless, so people buy gold because its the universal currency.

Because it's (often)shiny and not everybody has one. If not everybody has one therefor it's automatically good.
