Why is Kaiden Alenko so popular?

OK I've been reading Mass Effect Fan Fiction(oh god what have I got myself into), and there tend to be A LOT of Kaiden ones out there. I am also aware of how popular he is among fangirls. And I don't understand why. Why is this character so popular? Please someone explain why he's so popular! Is it the head bump? Is it the fact he's voiced by the same person who did Carth in KOTOR? I'm not going to waste my time explaining why I hate him and I don't want people out there to post why they do. I just want to know why people like him.

I dunno, he was Shepards 2nd in Command, and since it was either him or Ashely... I chose Ashley.
Although he sounded liek a wife in ME2, I thought he was a pretty cool guy

I kept him around because I hated Ashley more, but other than being the lesser of two evils, I don't understand either. Then again, it is fan fiction.

I thought Kaiden was a decent guy, tbh. Then again I liked Carth, too, while a lot of people didn't.

Don't get me wrong, he wasn't a show stopper. In fact he was pretty flat as characters go, but he did seem like a normal guy.

I do hate Alistair though. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

THANK YOU!!! First time I saw Alistair and talked to him, my first thought was "this guy's a douche". But I'm getting off topic. I don't feel like making an Alistair hate thread right now. So please don't reply to this asking why or telling me what you like about him. This is about Kaiden

I liked Kaiden, but as with ME2, once I went turian, I never went back again. Yes, I know that was a terrible joke, and it didn't even rhyme, but it's true. I never use the humans in the Mass Effect games, so I never really get strong bonds with them. In the end, I always like the females better because they make passes at me all the time (Liara and Tali were still better, though).

I didn't like him at all. I never spoke to him, and killing him was a really easy choice (A guy's gotta have someone to bone right?) although joke's on me because I cheated on Ashley with Miranda (Much hotter, less annoying and DAMN THAT ASS)

I think if anyone doesn't like Tali there is something seriously wrong with that person.
