This is hilarious. Firstly you talk about having respect for language. You then proceed to type "tho" rather than "though", and use the offensive slur "fag" which is far worse than saying "fuck" (which you avoided) because it is actually targetting a particular group.

My thought exactly... It was rather interesting, seeing all the credibility of the arguement go soaring out the window on the very last word.

Honestly tho, cussing every two words destroys the original purpose of swearing in the first place. Curses are meant to be used with some form of caution and "respect", not to describe how fat someone is, or how mad you are at your parents.
How do you know what the 'original purpose' of swearing was, or how they are 'meant' to be used? What makes you think our population is abnormal in it's fondness for swearing?

Would Boondock Saints still be as fun to watch if it weren't filled with FUCK! ASS!? Would it?

Nay, I tell you, Nay. It would not! Sure sure, it wouldn't become a bad movie if it lost its fuckload of fuck, but it would just be a different movie, maybe have less of a cult following.

For me, it is just a bad habit I picked up in school and haven't (as of yet) been able to break. Nothing more or deeper than that, really.

Picked it up in high school, perfected it to an art form in the military. Pretty proud of the fact that I can verbally rip into someone to the point that they cry.

Also, as you can see, using "alternative" swears makes you look like an even bigger fag.

I use it to emphasizing something, been trying to avoid using it as an offensive term. Although I do treat people who swears at me means it literally; like if a girl saying "fuck you" to me, I'd reply "now? okay, take it off" or if a guy says it, "sorry, I respect your preference but I'm not gay".

Seems fun that way.

Hate bad words..I think the whole country is full of swearing words. As I heard, languages from Europe sounds impolite in America continent. Especially English and French. It's true, why no one appeal to stop these?

Please don't generalize, 'our population' aren't all compulsive swearers and I can name a few people I know that would never swear. Personally, I love swearing but I only use it when necessary. Playing Condemned with the lights off, necessary. Having an ordinary conversation with a friend, not really. You don't want to over-use them because they lose the effect they have too. Saying fuck in every sentence makes you look like an ass and it gets annoying.

Don't come to Australia then(If you don't live here). Every second word from a lot of people is a swear word. I guess it's apart of our culture.

Google

Thats the first thing that came to my mind.

This is pretty much my stance on swearing. I honestly have no issue at all with swearing, but it completely loses any purpose at all when every second word someone says is a swear. Not only does it defeat the purpose of actual swearing, but it more often than not makes the one speaking that way look like a complete idiot. If you're in the middle of a warzone, sure, I can see that but when you're hanging out with a friend waiting for the bus and talking about what happened in school yesterday it's just stupid.

SO MUCH WAT IN THE OP

As someone on here once said, "cursing is the verbal crutch of the inarticulate ************". I tend to avoid it if I can, using only in quotes (see above) and for real emphasis. Not that most people catch my emphasis properly, unless they talk to me a lot. Usually, I can come up with a less obvious and base way of expressing my displeasure.
