Ok well in real life this happens a lot because generally, when someone is better looking they don't have to try as hard and they can get away with more shit. This more often than not occurs to them quickly and they slide downhill into being a massive dickhead/*****.

It can easily be explained.

They didn't put enough points in intelligence and focused everything on attractiveness.

That's why I'm telling y'all that it's important to get a balanced character when starting a new game!
Yeah I'm with this guy it's so easy to just roll a bad character...

I would buy a TF2 Heavy plushy.
I would buy it in a heartbeat.

How can you not love the guy?

Video games are a visual medium.
Video game advertsing is even more about visuals.

It pays to put more attention into looks than personality. This is easier and it sells better.

In general, you may be right, but there are the odd likeable sexy characters in some games.

The original Lara Croft was a much more approachable person, as noted by Yahtzee in one of his older reviews, where as the American reboot has her as a super-***** with cliched threats if violence, I say shamelessly imitating Yahtzee.

But yeah, a lot of game developers approch it pretty brainlessly...
"Duh, add sexy into the game!"
"She need script?"
"Duh... no."

Ugh, yeah, I'd say that the fact that the less bombshell they are, it was because the designers made them likeable. It's just a way of making you immerse into something that they have built.

But really, I just shrug at that. Kratos isn't a pretty boy and he's annoying as hell. One of the only likable characters that comes to mind was Daniel Fortesque, but that's because of his actual story.
