Why is the new My Little Pony show popular?

I'm not one of those nostalgia assholes who act like 70 year olds says stuff like "oh cartoons are shit today, back in my day cartoons were brilliant. all this knew stuff is shit and kids don't like this shit", But one show I constantly see on the internet is the new My Little Pony show. I've seen a clip or two and, to me, it's just another kids show that's for little girls and is clearly not for me. But, apparently everyone loves it, most of those people are men. Can someone tell me why it's so popular?

Well i'm not a big time fan like all the other bronies but here i go. A lot of them say it's got great animation and story. A lot of them say that they watch the first episode then have to watch the next. Seeming the first one is a to be continued episode. By time they watched the second one, they feel they need to watch more. Plus the episode get better and funner. And to be honest it's like a 90's cartoon.
I will be honest I have watched most of the episodes and it's grown on me.
If you want you can watch a episode or two and see what you think.
I first saw this when i saw a Let's watch of it. Two men watch all the episodes and they are pretty interesting and fun to listen too.
