Nope. It's something brought up as a useful way of scaring people about transgender people, but I don't remember real cases of trans people becoming trans to do this, because it's rather absurd.
I don't think anyone is saying real trans people would do this, real trans people don't "become" trans anyway.
Er, no, that is something lots of people say...it's popular amongst Republican politicians in the US.
I just meant here on the escapist. Nobody I've seen is trying to claim that actually trans people are just trying to creep, but that potentially people could pretend to be trans to do it. Which, like I've said, is definitely possible but unlikely and not worth getting worked up over.
Ah, ok, that's fair enough.

Like I said, the world is full of terrible fucking people, I'm sure there are shitloads who actually do believe that about transgendered folk.
Unfortunately, there are indeed enough people like that (or people who can be persuaded to be like that), enough to win votes with scare mongering.

I don't know do people live in abject fear that lesbians will be in women's locker rooms? If the fear of being perved on is a primary threat then bisexual's must be absolutely terrifying.

So, one of the reasons that women sometimes have a problem sharing bathrooms and locker rooms with transgendered individuals is that they feel that they never know if someone is actually transgendered or not, and so a man could use the excuse of being transgendered to go into a bathroom or locker room and spy on naked women.
Well considering a MAn transgendering to woman as far as I can tell is more apt to be sexually interested in men as opposed to other women. This makes no Sense. Not to mention while that sequence of evens may well have been plausible 50 years ago, This is the age of the internet and net cameras the size of thimbles. There are far easier and more effecient ways of seeing a bunch of ladies naked.

Yeah I have to say, how come we never year concerns over homosexuals harassing people in the bathroom (Which really fits with the narrative homophobes like to construct) but transexuals of course will! Because there's nothing like an attractive girl pissing or taking a shit to get horny young boys hard.

It's fear mongering, pure and simple.

Now I want to know why this is a thing, and why people think that this is a legitimate concern.
I imagine some of it stems from a fear of letting a potential rapist into the locker rooms with possibly naked women. Of course, such a fear ignores the fact that a woman is much more likely to be raped by someone they know than a stranger at the gym.

Yes there are people that would pretend to be trans in order to get some thrills.

The world is a strange place

But no, the fact that no one cares about female to male trans individuals trying to peep on men, or even that they don't give as much of a fuck about lesbians trying to peep on women, proves how unfounded the concern is.
Well I care. D:

About all those scenarios, actually. Part of being consistent.

I'd likely feel weird about an F to M trans peeping on me. Just like I'd feel weird about an...F from B, I guess- Doing the same. It's about privacy being violated and all that jazz.

Same for a lesbian peeking on women. It's just not cool for someone to peek on the sex they're interested in getting frisky with...or otherwise? Really, it just comes back to privacy and personal comfort being violated.
You can only speak for yourself though. The only other time we see an outcry of this nature is when straight men are uncomfortable with gay men being in the men's locker room. There just isn't this mass hysteria over a female to male transgendered person using the men's restroom/locker room or even a lesbian using the woman's restroom/locker room.

And I'm not saying that its a good thing for anyone to peep on anyone, just that western culture at large doesn't fear monger over certain topics.

I can see why someone might try it. After all, there is only so much satisfaction one can get hiding behind a computer screen. I think anyone would agree the real deal is always better, no matter what it is.

Odds are there is at least one person who might attempt or has already done so, but we've not heard about it so I can't speculate on it other than there probably aren't too many people that do/have done this and they're so rare a type it would be hard-pressed to find out who these/this people/person is.

*shrug*

You might find the shiny Pokemon you've been agonizing over or finally loot that damn mount from the Baron in Stratholme before you ever hear about something like this. Hell you might not even hear it then.

Mostly its just people who don't understand things that have fear that something like this will happen. Not "might" but "will" and thats the difference in thought for people with apparent mental handicaps like "ignorance". I swear ignorance should be considered a mental illness that spreads through association, like a plague of the mind because I've seen good people caught up in ignorant shit a lot in my life... its sad.
