Why isn't sony announcing anything?

Most of you have probably noticed the substantial amount of rumors/leaks about the PS-phone and the PSP2 that's been flowing in over the last few months, so many in fact that most people already take it as fact that these devices are on their way. (myself included)

So what completely baffles me is why Sony refuses to come out with these devices? It doesn't make sense to me in any aspect, as a consumer and someone who knows quite a lot about the IT industry and business procedures, whatsoever.

So what's your take on this subject? I'd love to hear what people are thinking, and yes, there's going to be a lot of responses saying that the device rumors/leaks are fake. I acknowledge that possibility but please don't turn this into a flame war on that subject.

ah they not doing exactly what every company usually does and wait until they are happy to show the device off to announce.
You know, like apple did with the iPhones and the iPad (all of which we knew about, for longer, and with more certainty, then the Sony PSP Phone). Apple did it so that they had a perfectly running model which was as it would be when it retailed, so everybody was impressed when ol' jobs pulled them out and demoed them. and they waited until after all the conferences etc and held their own event to do so.
Maybe Sony are just simply doing eactly the same, waiting utntil they get the finalised run finished, and have a perfectly running copy ready to show off, and to send to the media/developpers soon after? Makes perfect sense to me

They've got a schedule. They don't want to break it because some blokes came in wanting to take a few holiday snaps. That and because of the consistency of the leaks of the PSPhone, it is fucking obvious that Sony have orchestrated that supposed cock up.

If you ask me, it's a marketing tactic between two types of leaking. One where every little thing is leaked of every second of every day (PS Phone), and one where a bit, but not alot is leaked (PSP2). Maybe we'll have something for control where nothing is leaked (PS4? Naaaaaah!).

A few days ago, wasn't there a news thread that the PSPhone could play PS1 games?

Yes, a slow trickle indeed, but it may be my lack of interest toward Sony's portable market.
