I used to keep my wallet in my front pocket until I got an ultra-thin wallet as a gift. It's starting to wear out and I may switch things up if I have to get a normal wallet again.

Also, according to my step mother and all the most reputable sources I can find from Google searching for 10 minutes, prolonged sitting with a think wallet in your back pocket increases your chances of developing a condition called Sciatica, due to pressure on the sciatic nerve. Best to keep a thin wallet or keep a thick wallet in your front pocket.

I keep mine in a tight or zipped front pocket. Putting things in the bum pocket is just awkward. Otherwise, I put things in my book bag.
I must maintain physical contact with three items: keys, wallet, cellphone-- in my front pockets. I cannot put them in my bookbag as I panic continously that I have lost one of these three critical items.

Always have it in my back pocket. My front pockets are usually pretty tight and full with keys, lighters and my cell phone. Sticking those in the back pocket would be a lot more devestating. Never really been afraid that someone would steal it either.
When I got lots and lots of cash in it I stick it in the front/or jacket pocket however.

True for me too. Keys, wallet, bus pass, usually phone. Plus the knife I keep in my secret pocket in case someone takes me for a mugging target.

Well if I didn't keep my keys and phone in separate pockets, which I do, it would be because I am usually standing when I have my wallet. And for one thing sitting on it is not uncomfortable for me. For two when I need to run or move quickly (like at work) having it in the front becomes very uncomfortable after a while and puts it in my way if I need to crouch, jump up on something, crawl or wear a tool belt. And three that's just how I have always seen it done... Except with wangsters, people who were doing a lot of business and those who kept it on a chain, which I tried with my keys and stopped when it kept getting hung up on stuff.

Strange I never really encounter people putting their wallet at the back but yet again I don't stare at people rear ends.
I have my wallet in the front pocket like anyone else and I don't care if it make my pant look bulky (my wallet isn't a slim design) since most of the time my jacket or coat is covering it.

I have a very thin wallet, I don't own any pants that don't zip or button up in back, and I always wear loose-fitting clothing. Also, I simply don't let people into arm's reach of me more often than not... so, when I'm not wearing a jacket, it's keys and phone up front, wallet in the back.

As for why... well, why have back pockets at all? A wallet is about the only thing one can keep in them comfortably, aside from an oil rag.

I keep my wallet in my front. The back is for wallet-shaped trash, because it makes it all the more hilarious when it gets lifted.
HA! I need to try this... while keeping my wallet securely in my front pocket as always.

I feel exactly the same way. Putting such things in a back pocket makes no sense; cards get bent and phones get smashed.

I don't like to have stuff in my front pocket because it makes me look fat.
Therefore, my wallet stayeth in the back.

Since most people keep theirs in the back right pocket, I keep a cheap wallet there, which cost $1, and contains a card with "SUCKER" written on it, in case of theft, and in the back left pocket, I keep a card holder, because I don't use a wallet, really. All I need it for is storing card, because I rarely have more than $5 on me, and usually it's just one bill.

You just described my day to day pocket arrangement right there.

1) My front pockets typically have my keys and phone and it's irritating to have to dig around a wallet to find a set of keys.

2) It's uncomfortable to sit because my wallet doesn't exactly fold to the contours of my body when I bend at the waist. The wallet ends up pressing against my lower abdomen or hip-joint uncomfortably.

3) Since I've always put my wallet in my back pocket, I'm compelled to expect to find it in the back pocket. Any time I've had to move my wallet to another location for whatever circumstance, I will reach into my back pocket to get it and be surprised and worried when I don't find it, forgetting that I had relocated it. It then takes a few moments to regain composure and remember where it is.

If I were really in a particular situation where it isn't safe to leave a wallet in the back pocket, I'd either relocate it to the cargo pockets or fasten the back pocket (both if applicable). I also tend to wear a long over-shirt that hangs down over my back-end making it harder to pick.

Damn, what sort of pockets do you guys have? My right pocket usually holds phone, lighter and a pen, my left holds my keys and my wallet. Never had a problem with it.

I wear an over-shirt with pockets, so all my valuable stuff goes in there. Good thing, too; I'm really unobservant and it'd be pretty easy to pickpocket otherwise.

For the few times i actually happen to carry my wallet around i keep it in my front pocket. I never carry anything in the back ones because i like sitting down >_>

Plus it makes it easier for me to grab stuff from my pocket when i do sit down without looking weird.

How else can you efficiently carry around all of your useless crap?
This. (I was actually going to post something to this effect, but you got there first, so kudos).

OT: My father keeps his in the back pocket, and his wallet is fricken huge with random crap spilling out from it at all times. I have no idea why he keeps it in the back, and I've ever actually worked up the courage to ask....

I put my hands in my front pockets, and being both big AND fat, jean pocket sizes tend to not increase much with increase in jean sizes. Big hands, small pockets.

I used to put them in my cargo pockets, but got tire of them banging into my leg. Back pocket it is.

Plus, if you can unbutton both buttons and remove my wallet from my back pocket without me noticing, you should probably be breaking into fort Knox, rather than picking my pocket.

Men tend to have less useless crap they take with them. ;)
