I had a feeling that in the shower that guys are more linear and see things to get to the next step while girls just tend to expand on one or a couple ideas very broadly which makes it easier for them in Language Arts because you take one part of your life and just take it and elaborate on it until it's the best it can be while guys are good in math because they have a long equation and use what they know to simplify the equation linearly until they finally find the right answer. Yet, there are exceptions like guys that can be fast-linear and go from one subject to the next so as to be in a way elaborate or girls that can elaborate on multiple things at once therefore allowing them to be more linear. So tell me if there is something you want to add or change, unless you think this is just stupid and feel free to say so.

Psychological advantages tend to be really minor, and are ultimately fairly pointless in light of the sheer amount of physical and psychological variety of humanity as a whole.

Hmmm, I seem to recall more females in my AP math classes than males, but maybe it's a motivational reason for that.

Well, I will say this. I'm very good and Language Arts and help my girlfriend at the subject, while she is much better at math than I am, and she helps me.

Obviously, there would be a few exceptions to your theory, but let's wait and see what everyone says.

Funny, cause i'm a dude and am terrible at math and really good at the language arts, wait a minute.... I'm also a really good cook, totally psycho about cleanliness, and I have lotes of shoes.

Now you have me thinking.

What the hell is "Language Arts"? Is it anything like Modern Foreign Languages?

I am terrible at both...I am a girl.

All I seem to be able to do is prat about and make a fool of myself so I don't fit in either category...SHIT!

Like odubya23, I'm an exception to this rule. I'm male, and find myself deliberating and conceptualising literary theories; rather than looking at complex algebra equations. Which is apparently quite strange.

Yea, Im insanely good at math, sometimes being called a human calculator, but I really suck at language arts
The weird part is, that in math there are more girls and in in language/English there are more guys
Maybe its just me, or Everything i different at my school

I don't know about that; I'm terrible at math and science but excel in English and History.

No number and strength of any psychological theories can account for the vast variations in tastes, intelligence, knowledge, and ability.

I find that in the shower, guys are better than girls at maths, as we can count to 21.

It depends on how each individual child is brought up. Being good in a certain subject is not sex based.

I'm guessing this is based totally on your own personal opinion and on 0 fact?

All my favourite writers and artists are men... Homer, John Milton, Bram Stoker, Alexandre Dumas, Goethe...

Though that said, when these were writers were about, women still had a secondary role in society.

Opposite for me, but then again I'm a pretty effeminate guy so that might be why.

I'm interested to know if you have anything to support your claims.

Did you based your statement on personal experience? In that case, it's very hard to accept it. You have no proof, no conclusive studies, no sources...

How can you claim that girls are better with language and guys are better at math?
