I used to love marmite but I tried some recently and....bleh.

I think most people dont like it because they don't know how to eat it. It's not something you spoon into your mouth, you spread it thin over toast or a cheese sandwich.

I'm Australian and I have to say that no matter the quantity or how much butter I apply, as long as I can taste it it's utterly terrible. D:

But hey, if you like it then more power to you. I'm one of the few people I know who loves cranberry juice. (Particularly swirled around in a wine glass. >.>; )

My physics teacher brought some to class for Australia day. I gave it a try and thought it was okay. However, I refuse to believe this is vegetable-based when It very clearly is a blended meat paste.

I was at a birthday party come sleepover and witnessed a girl use Vegemite to aid in her masturbation.

I know love Vegemite for two reasons--the taste and that memory.

As a British person I love Marmite and Vegemite, as a op said it should be applied in economical amounts.

As an Australian I have. It's alright though because of a medical condition in early life I was put on a no added salt/low salt diet. So I wasn't allowed to eat it. Now that I can I don't bother. I buy lots of no added salt or low salt products still.

I've always had Promite, always. It's just a far superior spread (in my opinion).
I agree Promite is the better of the two, probably because it's milder so you can put more on to actually enjoy the flavor. (when the mood takes you that is)
