In Chicago, you more or less have to get used to shitty weather like that. Northerners are much more hardy than people like Californians and Flordians
I'm a little further inland in Wales, and I can safely say it's not snowing. It is, however, doing that very special trick of raining incredibly heavily from a clear blue, sunny sky. I don't know how Wales does it, but by Jove it does it to the best of its abilities!Wadders said:I'm in Wales by the coast and that means wind and rain, and lots of it. All day, every day.
I'm looking forward to going home for Christmas, if only just to experience a slight drop in temperature which may bring snow. But it will probably just rain at home too![]()
You should come on over to Vancouver, were a comfortable -2c at the moment!Aerodyamic said:Sadly, it's not... the temperature, adjusted to include the wind chill, is -33c. I live in Western Canada, and while it's certainly not the coldest place on Earth, most of the Prairies get mighty cold. I've actually worked outside in -80c... -39c physically, with a -41c wind chill. Imagine penguin people, wearing goggles, and waddling. That's more or less what the crew I was on looked like.Psychemaster said:Minus 27? I hope for your sake that's a typo...
That's besides last winter, where I was working 7 hours north of home, living in a camp; we worked 10 days out, and with nothing else to do, if it wasn't snowing, we worked. Some days were -40c at sunrise.
And raining, right?SonicKoala said:You should come on over to Vancouver, were a comfortable -2c at the moment!
Hey! It's been sunny for the past 3 days, buddy........ after raining for 27 days straight. Jeez, Canada's weather sucks.Aerodyamic said:And raining, right?SonicKoala said:You should come on over to Vancouver, were a comfortable -2c at the moment!

Thats funny, I am also in -27 weather, except I do have a windchill, for a balmy -35 degrees celcius right now. Sometimes I really hate where I live....Aerodyamic said:So, the current temperature where I'm at is -27c. Fortunately, there's no wind chill, but still, it's buggering cold, particularly if you're about to spend the day on the roof of some building, trying to make it water-tight. And it's especially poopy out when I remember the 8" of snow we got over the weekend... the 8" I'll be helping shovel.
Bleh.
So, in what particular manner is Mother Nature tormenting the rest of you right now?
I remember those days, if you weren't in front of the A/C you were in the pool. Thank fuck I'm across the ditch in lil ol' New Zealand now. It may be more expensive, but the weather never gets THAT fucking ridiculous.traceur_ said:I. Fucking. Hate. Summer.
Australian summers are ridiculous, especially in Queensland when it's 30 degrees (in the shade) on a cold day. To top it off, my air-conditioning is broken, so I've resorted to soaking myself with a spray bottle.
Thank christ I get to go to California for a week in January. Bring on the motherfucking cold!
I take it you've never been to 100 mile house. We've had -40 winters, and it's not even that far North.Psychemaster said:Minus 27?
