Ah, Myth. Nice to see some love for Myth. Seriously underrated game I hardly see anyone talk about. I actually preferred the original ever so slightly, but Myth II was a solid follow up.

Goes along with Sacrifice and Homeworld in the "non-traditional RTS" category, which is home to a lot of classics and near-classics that, for one reason or another, never get anywhere close to the attention that their more mainstream brethren enjoy.

Since the issue of whether or not someone else's favorite video game is better than mine is completely subjective, and I view my opinion higher than another's, my favorite video game is better than yours because I say so.

This would of been a smart comment if you had of actually listed the game you were talking about. Gaming is a world of subjectivity whether you like it or not so get over it.

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. The deepest, most subtle allegory ever produced in gaming as we know it. No game has ever topped it in sheer artistic depth.

It serves as a perfect postmodern expression of disillusionment in life & the existential viewpoint. It serves as a brilliant metaphor for an unfulfilling life. As the game starts, you are given the option to pursue the course laid out for you or set out on your own path- but only blackness awaits you if you deviate too far from the path laid out for you. You can go backwards as fast as you can, but will always immediately stop if you wish, symbolizing how as much as we might want to reflect on our lives, we must inevitably return to our journey, only now we are set behind. You may try to let others reach the end before you, but they will always stop, waiting for your mark. You will eventually cross the threshold into oblivion, and you can only delay the inevitable crossing over.

My favorite game doesn't matter, only my opinion. My favorite game is better in my eyes by virtue of being my favorite game.

Also, I don't have a favorite game. Trying to pick one game out of the dozens, if not hundreds, of games I've played over the past 2 decades would be impossible. Though, if pressed, I could scrape together a top 5.

OT: My favorite game is Civilization III... I don't really feel like defending it though. Sorry D=. You may not know this... but I have to save all my energy and find crystal shards.

Okay...

-Epic fantasy setting that isn't just Middle Earth in all but name
-Graphics that look cartoony, but defy aging by doing so
-Beautiful environments
-Fighting enemies is pretty fun
-On two platforms, holds an average Metacritic of 91 for critics and 9.0 for users
-Paintbrush mechanic is worked in surprisingly well
-Interesting, memorable and often laugh-out-loud funny characters

My favourite game of all time has to be Dragon quest VIII: journey of the cursed king on ps2.

*Brilliant artwork and designs in game from one of the creators of dragon ball. When i played the game some of the sites truely amazed me. Especially when you are flying in bird form and looking down on the world. one word: Wow

*The storyline truely immersed me, i was attached to the characters in minutes. When it ended i felt sad that i had to see them go. (played many times over of course)

*Replayablity - Even though the game has only 2 endings it is playable over and over and since the storyline is so long each time you can get a solid 20-30 hours play time from it.

*character development is very good using skill points and what not to learn new moves (not the best but it helps to personalise your character)

*The winning factor is the you get to see Jessica (the hot female character of the group) in a bunny suit, a bikini and sexy undies ;) Nothing beats that sort of easter egg in a game XD
