Why no love for Thane?

People who obsesses over ANY fictional character scares me. I've seen worse than the Tali thing, like those people who want to do sexual things to Sonic game characters, or the Twilight girls that want to kill themselves over boy vampires, or just as bad, guys who want to masturbate to Avatar catpeople.

Not saying you're like that, you just bring up an interesting point. I guess I would rather see people obsessing over cutesy, sweet, can't-even-see-her-face alien girls than over Barbie dolls and slutty bitches (Miranda and Jack respectively).

I don't get it either. How could people obsess over characters who aren't Wrex? (So dreamy)

Lol Don't worry, mate, you didn't insult me. I enjoy Tali as a LI and I support the rabid fanbase so that Bioware keeps her in the games, but I don't obsess over her (especially not to the extent of writing fan fiction about her, fapping over her, and God knows what else the die-hard Talimancers do).
-I absolutely agree with the creepy factor to what you said. I've seen WAY too much Sonic porn just browsing on Deviant Art, and I try to ignore the crazed Twilight fans these days, lest the scarce remnants of hope I have in humanity be lost.

--But, I guess when compared to anthropomorphic fetishists and the terror of the emo Twilight fangirls, the Talimancers aren't so bad in the end. Besides, I always said I'd rather have legions of folk obsess over a fictional character than hordes obsess over REAL men and women. That kind of shit leads to nerds shutting down trains just to see their favorite pop idol (a case in Japan a while back).

I dont like Thane (or as I call him scaly-ezio)because he comes in to late, it like Samara, by the time you get them your too far in the game to care.

Also Grunt, Tali, Jacob and everyone else is more intresting.

People would like Thane alot more if not for the epic self delusion he's plugged for, the rest of him is cool (although I'd debate the whole fish/lizard thing). If he'd been more like Zaeed and doing it for money, you know, a real reason, then he'd be a lot more popular. But the whole "It wasn't me, my body is a tool while my soul is in torment" schtick, really? Fuck off, man up and accept responsibility for your actions you mug.

I like Thane a lot, but his loyalty mission is only okay, and he's just not as fun as Wrex was, or Garrus, or Grunt is, or even Legion. He's stuck with the problem of being the least fun individual of 3 sniper characters. He is a badass though.

Lack of love? I haven't met a guy yet who doesn't like Thane. I mean, his entrance alone officially makes him a badass, how can't you love that?

I like Thane but I have to say Garrus' intro is my fave. It's more more western/noir badass. Thane was Ninja badass so I guess it's all about taste.

Jack's was BADASS, Mordin was crazy badass and Morinth was fucking badass.

I could go on but I'll stop......

I like Thane. He's probably right up there with Mordin and Samara for me. They were the top three. Interesting characters with interesting back stories. Thane and Samara had neat loyalty missions. Different from the others.

I traveled around with Thane and Mordin for most of the missions. Would have used Samara, but I play as Adept.

Now the characters I could have lived without... Miranda and Jacob.

I've seen a very small fan base for Thane Krios thus far, off of Mass Effect 2.

I'm curious as to why... I thought he was by far one of the most compelling and badass characters in the game myself.

Thane was actually one of the few characters that I liked. The rest, with a very few exceptions, were either whiney, preaching, moralistic fools, or gung-ho maniacs.

Thane doesn't have a very good powerset, so if you play on Insanity, you'll find yourself benching him a lot... there's nothing he does that someone else doesn't do better (and often, MUCH better). Even his 'special' power is lackluster.

He's also a lot less interesting than Mordin, Garrus or Tali imo.

I think a major problem with Thane, as well as Samara, (Tali as well, but c'mon, who got Tali second to last) is how late you can get him in the game. I said how late you can get him, like myself, when I was just running through the story, I got Thane as the second to last party member, I didn't really have enough time to know the guy.

I kinda wish the game was structured the way it was before, at an earlier stage of development; Legion, Tali, and Thane were meant to be recruitable much earlier, some videos demnstrate lines of dialogue they have in places like Purgatory, and Horizon.
