Why no love for Thane?

Yeah, the main problem with getting people late is that it means you'll miss out on some events.

For example, you get some very funny text if you decide to bring Legion to Tali's trial... but there's no way to do this if you're trying to do a 'save everybody even the Cerberus Crew' run.

I picked up everybody and did EVERY sidequest before I went to the IFF in my first game... I had no idea I was getting Legion there. So I got Legion, did his loyalty quest and beat the game... and I didn't really get any of the 'wow, he's cool!' vibe from him until my second playthrough where I did things differently in order to get more face time with him.

I like Thane, I thought he was one of the most badass party members you got.

I think a major problem with Thane, as well as Samara, (Tali as well, but c'mon, who got Tali second to last) is how late you can get him in the game. I said how late you can get him, like myself, when I was just running through the story, I got Thane as the second to last party member, I didn't really have enough time to know the guy.

I kinda wish the game was structured the way it was before, at an earlier stage of development; Legion, Tali, and Thane were meant to be recruitable much earlier, some videos demnstrate lines of dialogue they have in places like Purgatory, and Horizon.
It's possible to mod the game (pc of course) so that you have companions from the start, and I'm fairly certain they all have dialogue for all the missions. I don't know how to do it, apart from it being a coalsced.ini mod, but I read the post of a guy that did it to give himself Legion from the start, because he gets so little screen time, and that he had dialogue for the early missions. I'm fully aware that it could've been a troll, but it seemed legit.
And fyi, I got Thane early, because I was looking forward to his badass-ery, and Tali was the last I recruited (because the game and most fans make such a big deal out of her, while I just feel "meh" in regards to her, the Tali thread on the BW site has 90,000+ replies ffs), bar Legion.

He seemed like a cool guy, plus he's a new species, and the only character whose dialogue doesn't go into either romance or 'too busy' after about 2 times talking with him.
And how the hell could you like Mordin more than Thane? A genocidal doctor who explains how he could ethicily kill billions based on a war that took place over a thousand years ago. I was happy when he died on one of my playthroughs.

As a character he has an amazing personality, backstory hell... hes got everything its just....well... have you seen him HES A GODDAMN LEMON!
You're the second person to say this on the thread. I'm curious what it means.

Lemon? I'm worried I'm missing out on some very interesting slang here.

Or perhaps you are using it to describe his physical well being, much like someone might call a car a lemon if it breaks down shortly after you get it. Is that it?

This is not sarcastic in any way, I genuinely want to know.
It's simpler than that, get a lemon, tilt it, then draw eyes and a mouth. Thane!!

Que?
I'm not seeing a lemon on that face.

I love the guy. His loyalty mission was my favorite one. Well his and Samara's loyalty missions were fantastic.

At least I thought so.

Do you really care that much about what other people think? Thane is awesome, and everyone else is entitled to their opinions.

Lack of love? I haven't met a guy yet who doesn't like Thane. I mean, his entrance alone officially makes him a badass, how can't you love that?
I hardly see anyone mentioning though, that entrance alone makes him more enjoyable than legion. o.o
Yes, but can Thane beatbox and do "the Robot"?

I don't think so.

Is that really as bad?

I mean, I don't do either of those things, but it's a bit of a jump.
Just as bad as in - depravity and factor of weirdness. I didn't mean girls actually killing themselves, more that they would kill themselves if their fictional character asked them too, that they would just die for him. Extremely unhealthy girl obsessions tend to be like that.

Guys, on the other hand, want to lust over their obsession, and if its to an unhealthy level that they draw naked pictures of them (deviant art or similiar websites) and masturbate furiously while playing the video game/watch the movie of said character and prefer that fictional character to real people and relationships, then yes, I would say that is just as bad. And that is what I meant by "guys who want to masturbate to Avatar People". The obsessives, not guys who might randomly think about blue catpeople while masturbating. Blue aliens are pretty damn sexy, so I can't really blame them for that.

I suppose I should have gone into more depth by what I meant, but I was kind of rushing it. :p

Don't worry about it. When you explain it like that then I find myself in agreement!

Thane is mostly just a second-grade Garrus, to me. Garrus has a nicer personality, a more fleshed out character (In spite of having a lot of backstory, the actual character Thane is a bit one-dimensional, much like Jack) and a voice that I find sexy and appealing in spite of being hetereosexual.

Mordin hasn't killed anyone with his medicine, ethically or otherwise.
Based on all the evidence we have of the Krogans, and their general behaviour/attitude, there were three options:
1. Genocide the Krogans.
2. Put the virus in place that actively kills no living Krogan, but controls fertility rates.
3. Do nothing, let the Krogans multiply to numbers uncontrollable, galaxy falls into war with everyone vs Krogans. Results in the same situation again (but with untold lives lost during conflict) or in galaxy wide genocide/slavery by the Krogans.
Mordin's tale is tragic. He did the right thing, but to be the reason so much potential life never happens, and the general misery of the Krogan people, is a terrible load to bear.
Also, he's hilarious:
"Working on new Collector data. Ruled out artificially-inteligent virus... unless it's very intelligent, and toying with me!"
