Geee....four? What is this?

And does it really matter? All gaming news outlets will soon be spewing the same stuff. Or are. I dunno. Haven't really followed E3 since 2008.

G4 was the tech network. It isn't anymore. Not having the press conferences today just solidifies that the network is dead.

Because G4TV has been in a steady downward spiral ever since they got bought up by the same company that runs Bravo (I think). That's why you see Cheaters and Cops on there more often than XPlay and Ninja Warrior.

Since when? G4, like MTV, do not show what their name implies, when have you seen music on MTV? When have you seen anything but COPS, Cheaters and other non related stuff on G4?

So last year they showed game related content you say? Doesn't that just prove what I wrote?

And I meant during non E3 time.

Well, both channels have very log budgets but I think G4 is just about the lowest-budget network on cable. A few years ago they had literally like six weeks of content and would just loop it over and over. Most of the reviews I saw back then were of games that had been out for over a year.

Seriously, apart from Attack of the Show and X-play, G4 is a reality TV show network. Unless I'm missing something from all those Cops/Campus PD shows. Spike's probably getting more coverage because... well I don't know. I don't know why either of them are covering it really. Guess its because they're the only channels with shows that have to do with video games.

Then how did they get live demo's of Skyrim and MW3?

NBCUniversal/Comcast methinks, but checking the Wiki now... |^

Edit: Yeah, G4 was/started out as a gaming & tech-oriented network back in 2002, but has been gradually altered into the pathetic and unholy beast it is (in its current state) since as early into its lifespan as 2005.

[a href="http://articles.cnn.com/2002-04-24/tech/video.game.channel_1_game-sales-g4-interactive-digital-software-association?_s=PM:TECH"]But TV analysts like Robert Thompson, director of the Center for the Study of Popular Television at Syracuse University says that while some niche programming ventures like the Food Network and MTV have been largely successful, there's no guarantee that G4 will survive in an already crowded medium.

Thompson notes, however, that advertisers may be attracted to G4's young demographic, which could help its viability.[/a]
[a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G4tv"]The initial concept was to create a service similar to TechTV but "geared more toward MTV's demographics".[/a]
There ya have it. The studios' endgames were to gradually mold "true" gaming and tech news/culture into something (as what MovieBob would refer to as) the douchebags and "jerk-jocks" fanbases within the "youth" demographic would find palpable. And would you look @ that... they've done it! D:

Spike Also has the VGAs doesn't it?
Have we moved to a standard award for video games yet? Come on it's an art-form now. We want some Oscars!
